I picked this book up at Netgalley because the blurb sounded interesting to me, while I liked the book it was not what I was expecting. But to be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

This sexy, fun vampire romance takes place in the same world as My Sunny Vampire (Bitten by Love, #1) but can be read standalone. In Bite Me, I'm Yours we meet John, a vampire who was changed against his will in the 1950’s and Sarah an accountant who has recently escaped an abusive marriage. When they meet the attraction is instantaneous and fierce. This book has its good moments and then there are the moments when I felt like the author was spoofing Twilight. Making fun of the age difference, watching her sleep, the push me pull you at the start of the relationship but all in all the supporting cast and the hea made it worth the read.

I received an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for a fair and honest review.

By giving this book only two stars, I'm not trying to say it was bad...it just wasn't exciting to me. If you take out the fact that John is a vampire, it's pretty much just a sweet love story of a tortured girl. Which is all well and good, but I want more. Especially considering this is a paranormal vampire romance. Even though it is listed as the second book in a series, I think it can be read as a stand alone because I had no trouble following it.

Sarah has had a rough life for one so young. She finally escaped her abusive ex-husband only to have him stalk her and eventually rape her in her own home. Oh, and of course she's also the target of a serial killer.

John is obviously a vampire but he doesn't want to be one. He doesn't socialize with others if he can help it and never sticks around after their meetings. It's not a life he would have chosen for himself and he's not too thrilled about Sarah wanting it. He's a gentleman at heart and he hates how Sarah's ex has beaten her down so much emotionally that she's always afraid he'll get mad at her for any little thing.

They meet one night at the bar John owns and it's an instant attraction. Though John initially fights wanting a relationship with Sarah, it doesn't last long. And here's where it's all love and roses with them. They go on dates and hang out out and yadda yadda. All sweetness. The only mar to that is Steven always being there and the bad things that keep happening to Sarah. One night she finally finds out what he is and she kind of freaks but not really. I think it's about 16 hours later when they're back together and she accepts him as he is because she can't see her life without him. She even lets him take her blood...and constantly wants to jump him. So she knows now and their relationship continues. Then from the shadows appears the baddie and the reason behind all the danger Sarah has kept being in is made apparent. Not really a crazy twist when you think about it but it works. Barely escaping death at the hands of said baddie, John and Sarah get engaged and plan to be together forever. The how that Sarah can do so seemed...I don't know...silly maybe? I know some way had to be thought up but I don't think I like it much even though I kind of do *shrug*

Oddly enough, the side character, Perry, was more entertaining than John. He was a much more happy go lucky vampire living life to the fullest.

While I didn't particularly enjoy this one a great amount, it was an okay read. And might some day check out the first one because that sounds like it would be better...

Bite Me, I'm Yours is the second book in the Bitten by Love series and can easily be read as a stand-alone.

I was a little disappointed by this book, the storyline/plot had so much more potential than what was written. John and Sarah has such a sweet normal relationship involving many dates that anyone would have. While there are some erotic scenes (about three) they're pretty short and don't get your blood really pumping. This book also seemed to really lag during the first half of the book even though there was a lot going on; I wish that the author had taken more time to better engage the reader.

The book did get much better towards the end; while some of it was predictable, the author was still able to draw you into the story. Since the author was able to finally draw me into the story towards the end and the plot was intriguing, I'd give this author another chance.

Sarah is trying to rebuild her life after divorcing her husband. Her husband doesn't seem to understand they have split up and when she is out for drinks she meets John. John has a huge secret and even though he is attracted and feels like their is something different about Sarah, he doesn't feel he can take the risk. However everything changes with Sarah and he finds himself wanting to build something with Sarah but the past is trying to interfere putting them both in danger.

This was quickly paced and I liked how John and Sarah come together. Had a bit of angst but I liked the overall story and thought there was a lot of interesting characters.

This was an interesting tale, light and easy to read but with quite a bit of sex. It was a contemporary romance with a dash of paranormal-vampires. I say dash of paranormal because it could have been a story told without having vampires in it at all. Yes there was biting and bloodsucking mixed with sex, but the main theme to me was about the heroine and hero's relationship and what crosses them; someone from the past with an axe to grind. So what I like to see in paranormals as in world building was decidedly lacking. And the vampire society, I believe more will come clear in later books, but in this one, they did not know alot about their circumstances and the idea of a 'Perfect Mate'.

The writing was fine, but the hero was not the type I usually go for - brooding and dark. He was very nice and not at all Alpha which was certainly fine. It is a very valid choice to make such a type of hero.

Sarah Dougherty is a 24-year old divorcee who likes vampire novels and animal socks. One night after work, Sarah is attacked in a parking lot. Sexy bar owner John comes to her assistance, saving her life and persuading the attacker to turn himself in. How does he do this? Because John is a vampire. He is also inexplicably drawn to Sarah. Sarah goes to the bar one night soon afterward with her friend, and her attraction to John is instant.

The first part of the book was okay. John seemed nice enough, as did Sarah. The main problems I had with the book were the amount of bad things that happened to Sarah - my god, how many bad things can happen to one woman over the course of a month?! Any one of the following would have been bad enough, but Sarah endured ALL of these:
Attacked by a serial killer and knocked out. Attacked by serial killer again and involved in a bad car accident. Stalked and subsequently raped by ex-husband. Followed by creep vampire and bitten in her sleep. Drugged and almost kidnapped by another vampire, then actually Kidnapped by said vampire. Tied to a tree and maimed, tortured, stabbed, and attacked by said serial killer yet again.
.

Sarah also underwent a complete personality transformation half way through the book - she went from apologising for being 'forward' and trying to pay her way to practically stripping and yelling at John. I found it really hard to believe that someone who ended up curled in the fetal position after a very traumatic incident would behave the way she did just one week later. I found the explanation behind Sarah being targeted to be silly, and I'm not even sure if that was wrapped up properly because I skimmed the last few pages.

It was alright. Contains sex scenes and crude language.
