I think this was an amazing end to this series and really stayed true to who the characters were. At the same time, there was definitely hard moments that I felt like I had to disassociate from the characters and story just because of how intense they were which probably led to other moments down the road not hitting as emotionally as they could have because of that disassociation. That being said, I think those moments were still very valuable to the story. I loved how Hades finally let people in and had the guys be such an integral part of her life and work. I also loved that she was making friends. I’m really happy I gave this world another try. I definitely want to look into more companion series and maybe even finish up some of the other books I have by her.

This series really ran into some pacing issues for me as it went on. This last book felt way too long, and for very few good reasons. I still liked the MC’s, and was glad to finish out their stories, but I think some of this could’ve been edited down. There was a whole lot of (pretty decent) spice. Definitely way more than any of the other books, but the group nicknames continued to feel absolutely cringe.
This book also felt much darker, and more graphic than the rest of the series. The FMC goes through some really upsetting
torture/sexual violence
on page at the beginning of the book, so be sure to check your trigger warnings.

I had so much fun reading this series. Sometime about them just rlly suck you in and keep you engrossed.
This one was much more graphic than the others, so definitely check triggers warnings.
The ending felt a little anticlimactic to me personally, but I’m glad it all ended up okay. And omg that one part at the end melted my heart.
Adored the relationship development between everyone, but especially enjoyed seeing the boys settle into their friendship too. Overall gonna miss this series and defs recommend to why-choose and dark romance fans.

i think it was a very satisfying ending for Hades! i’m glad she got closure the way she wanted to, not the way others thought she should or the way you, the reader, thought she should.

i do feel like this book was more sex-filled than the other three, especially because of the beginning she had with Chase.

i liked her character more than MK and I think this ending was better suited than MK’s ending as well.

excited to read Vault now!

A fantastic conclusion to the Hades series. I absolutely loved Hades and her cast of characters, even Seph grew on me quite a bit in this book! And the spice-- good lord I bow down to Tate James and her EXPERTISE in writing reverse harems. At times I did feel a little swept up in the non-stop action, the pacing a bit fast as if there was a lot to cover to wrap up their stories in a way that made sense (and even then, a bit of a stretch), but honestly I was fine with it by the end because listen, I'm just along for the ride when it comes to the goings-ons of Shadow Grove. And the boys' romance/dedication to Hades is just the best and makes up for any momentary confusion in the plot.

Also Daddy Cass....all I gotta say.

Timber takes a significantly darker turn than the rest of the series so please be cautious. There’s no actual TWs/CWs provided in the book, just a note that you know what to expect if you’ve made it this far because you know Hades past. I’ll include triggers at the bottom of this review.

I thought the series was great right up until the end. Hated the marriage in the epilogue despite Hades saying on 3 separate occasions within the final book that she’d never get married. And the ending overall was just kinda weak 🤷🏻‍♀️ all these epic showdowns with Chase just for her to say “a magician never reveals her secrets” when she magically can finally have him arrested and truly held.
