If you start this book and think, "Man, it's kind of slow." Just WAIT. Everything major happens right at the end and it was wild af. I kind of didn't like that but it was still really great and I can't wait to pick up the next one!!

DNF @ 28%. I'm not going to finish this book or the rest of the books in the series. It just doesn't have that It Factor for me as a reader and I dislike how much I have to push myself to keep reading. There are too many points of view for my taste which makes me lag every time we come to a character I don't really care about (the majority of them) or outright hate (I'm looking at you, Jonas). Coupled with the dry writing style, I just can't convince myself to keep going just for the sake of finding out what happens to Magnus, the only character I actually find interesting. If by some miracle I find my interest renewed in this series again, I'll pick them up at the library, but for now I'll be donating my collection so I can free some space on my bookcases.

Magnus! And Cleo! And Lysandra!
I loved Rhodes' writing style and the pace of the book. The shifts in character POVs were also phenomenal. Good book, all in all.

First time read: May 5-May 8,2015

I just can't get over this series. These books hunt my every thoughts. They're slowly becoming my new addiction. I don't what life consisted of before I stumbled upon them.

Rebel Spring started right where Falling Kingdoms left off. New characters were introduced and new perspectives were added into the mist. The characters keep developing as they're finding new strength and purpose. A few unbelievable twists were presented as well. This book is full of deception and lies. No one can be trusted. And M.R. has no qualms about killing characters.

Rhodes knows how to grip readers. This rich, fantasy world leaves you gasping for breath and can't be help but be obsessed with. This is what great fantasy is made of. I absolutely loved this book.

“A gown does not make a bride, just as a few empty threats do not make a rebel.”

This is one of those series that has a multitude of different characters and plot lines to follow and I absolutely love it. While at times it can be a little confusing to follow all the different story lines, they all weave together into this epic fantasy.

The strong point of this book was definitely the characters. I love each and every single one one of them. Magnus is by far my favorite character. He is so complex with all these different intricacies that make him into this character you cannot help but feel bad for and want to see him succeed. There is definitely a lot of character growth in this book for him. He is grappling with the changes brought about in Falling Kingdoms and where he stands in the fight against King Gaius.

Speaking of Gaius, I absolutely hate him. Which I know is a given in this series, but he is overly maniacal and cruel. He leads through fear, rather than respect. I hated how much he hurt everyone around him, whether it was Cleo, Aron, Jonas, and even his own family of Magnus and Lucia.
SpoilerHe even had his own wife killed.
I cannot wait for when we finally see his downfall, in what I assume will be the final book.

Another character I love is Cleo. She is dealing with a lot in this book, but she still has time to be compassionate and a strong character. I really loved her and Magnus in this book and I really want them to become more than friends. Right now it kind of seems like we are leading to that which is awesome!

There are a bunch of other characters in this book I could talk about, but I don’t want this review to be all me gushing about the characters. In this installment, we definitely learned more about the prophecy and how the rest of the series is going to unfold with the search for the Kindred. I cannot wait to pick up Gathering Darkness and be completely caught up with the series, even if I have to then wait until December for Frozen Tides.

"It was an important reminder that this was all lies. A thin layer of snow that would soon melt to reveal the ugliness that lay beneath its beauty."

Oh my God this was even better than the first book!
For a start, I'm beginning to like the characters much more, imperfections and all. There was still some stupidity here and there, yes I'm looking at you Jonas and Lucia, but I didn't really mind it like before; it kinda seemed well in place. Some relationships were still weird or out of place, but I learned to roll my eyes and look away.
And oh my God all these plot twists got my head spinning! This book is so full of surprises in each page and you won't even see them coming. You can also see some tiny bit of character development in a couple of characters. Now I'm really glad I get to see all that development from the very start.

This series looks like it'll keep getting better and better, and I can't help but get addicted to it.
