I’m a huge fan of the contemporary series Someone Else’s Fairytale. Chloe and Jason are a great couple and her career path as a forensic scientist adds a bit of mystery and suspense to the story. I love how it doesn’t revolve around Jason’s acting career and the paparazzi drama, but those definitely play a role because of the nature of Chloe’s work. The series combines the best of contemporary romance with the suspense of a crime novel and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each book.
I really liked The Hunt for the Big Bad Wolf, but I had my reservations about it when I saw the cover. If I’m being honest, I hate the cover. I was glad the book was kind of short so I didn’t have to take the book out in public because I hated the cover that much. Fortunately, the cover was misleading and the book was just as good as Someone Else’s Fairytale and Nobody’s Damsel.
I loved the plot and the conflicts in the book. Chloe was part of a serious investigation and she kept seeing similar details on Jason’s crime show on TV. She was trying to track down the source of the leak since her department was blaming her for the leak. But talking to the writers led to drama since one of them was dating Vicki, Jason’s partner in the show and ex. She, being the drama queen that she was, blamed Chloe for causing problems by talking to the writer. Everything was sort of interconnected and I liked watching it all unfold. Chloe is such a relatable character and her fears and concerns seemed completely legitimate. I loved seeing her relationship get a little stronger between her and her mom, too, since the other books focused a bit more on Jason’s family.
I definitely recommend the series and The Hunt for the Big Bad Wolf was another entertaining addition to the series. I can’t wait for more!

So this series is one of my guilty pleasures and follows one of my all time favorite troupes - famous actor falls for a normal girl. I'm such a sucker for it. And while I've never loved any of the sequels as much as the first, this one was still fun.
Even though she's married to one of the hottest movie stars around, Chloe still tries to cling to her normalcy and that includes her job as a CSI. While involved in a major serial killer case involving kids, Chloe suddenly finds her secret case files played all over the tv screen on the show her husband is currently working on. Coincidence or a leak?

This book brought my attention to the series. I'd never heard of it before, but one day I saw a blogger tweeting about it and I thought it could be interesting. When I realized it was the 3rd book, I decided to read the other ones first - and I'm so glad I did it! I don't think this is a stand alone book at all. At least, it was important for me to know where these characters were coming from. This 3rd book is really great! It had the perfect balance between Chloe's personal life and work. Even though it's still focused on her work, we get to see more of her family and friends too. Her mom's the best! The water tower scene was hilarious! I truly enjoyed it! Can't wait to see what happens next.

This book really kept me reading! I've been absolutely hooked, trying to figure out who is leaking the information and where the bad guy is hiding. I loved the new characters introduced in this story, as well as the continuation and growth of previous characters.
At parts I don't really get the feeling and strength of Chloe's and Jason's relationship (despite the constant 'I love you's ) but I do enjoy the crime side of the story a lot, and how her job is made more stressful (yet manageable due to connections) due to her high profile home life.
One gripe is that I wish we got more from Jason, apart from being a silent supportive type- one draw back from this been written in first person, as I feel his side of things would be interesting. Still, doesn't ruin my enjoyment of this world or characters, and I'm diving straight into the fourth book!

Original-Rezension: The emotional life of books
MEINE MEINUNG:
Ich weiß ja, dass E.M. Tippetts wirklich gute Bücher schreibt. Ich habe mich ja auch richtig auf diese dritten Teil der Reihe gefreut. Da bin ich dann wohl auch selber Schuld, dass ich dann Dinge, die ich eigentlich erledigen musste, nicht ganz so nachkommen konnte, wie ich es eigentlich wollte.
Ich fing also an zu lesen - und konnte nicht mehr aufhören. Also fast nicht mehr aufhören. Ich habe dann doch zwei Tage gebraucht. Was aber nicht an dem Buch lag, sondern an mir. So spannend wie es ist, musste ich mich jedes Mal förmlich losreißen, wenn ich es zur Seite legen musste.
Besonders reizen konnte mich an dem Buch die Verbindung zwischen Contemporary und Krimi. Man bekommt quasi das beste aus beiden Welten. Durch den Krimi Aspekt ist das Buch immer richtig spannend. Und dadurch, dass es auch ein Contemporary Buch ist, hat meine eben zusätzlich die tolle Liebesgeschichte zwischen Chloe und Jason, die immer noch so süß ist wie im ersten Band.
Das einzige, was mich ein bisschen gestört hat, ist, dass Chloe wieder eine Phase hatte, wo sie dachte, Jason würde sie betrügen. Was, wie wir doch alle wissen, er nie machen würde - ca. 10 Seiten später ist sie dann auch da drauf gekommen, weswegen ich hiermit auch nichts entscheidendes verrate.
Nichtsdestotrotz ist es wieder schön, eine Geschichte mit Chloe zu erleben. Sie ist eben eine durch und durch sympathische Persönlichkeit, die trotz allem, was ihr passiert ist, immer noch auf dem Boden geblieben und nicht abgehoben ist. Auch dass sie ihren alten Job als Kriminaltechnikerin beibehält, spielt da mit rein. Obwohl man natürlich sagen muss, das ihr Beruf für die Geschichte maßgebend ist und sie ihn deshalb auch gar nicht aufgeben könnte.
E.M. Tippetts Schreibstil lässt sich wirklich sehr leicht, angenehm und vor allem schnell lesen. Man fliegt nur so über die Seiten, stolpern tut man nie.
Sehr gut gefallen hat mir auch, dass die Geschichte nicht eine einzige geradlinige ist, sondern aus vielen kleinen Geschichten besteht, die all zu dieser einen großen Geschichte gehören, die die Haupthandlung im Buch vorgibt. So hat man eben auch mit einer von Chloes Freundinnen zu tun, die nicht weiß, wie ihre Zukunft aussehen soll. Und mit Jason Exfreundin, die ihr Glück sucht.
Aber das Ende. Also vielleicht habe ich ja auch nur einfach alle Spuren übersehen, aber ich habe DAS definitiv nicht vorhersehen können. Die Auflösung hat mich ziemlich kalt erwischt und ich war erst einmal sprachlos.
Dann kam der Moment, als ich die letzte Seite gelesen habe und fast schon wütend war, dass das Buch schon vorbei ist. Ich will definitiv mehr! Die Geschichte macht absolut süchtig!
MEIN FAZIT:
Zusammenfassend kann man nur sagen, dass mir Die Suche nach dem großen bösen Wolf wirklich unheimlich gut gefallen hat. Sympathische Charaktere und eine spannende Story bringen einen dazu, das Buch fast an einem Stück durchzulesen. Ich kann dieses Buch (bzw. die Reihe) wirklich jedem empfehlen, der mal eine gute Kombi aus Contemporary und Krimi lesen möchte!
