This is Star Wars!

Just an amazing book. Can’t be objetive... it’s Star Wars. So many hidden treasures... so many twists. May the Force be with you!

Sadly, not as good as the first book in this series, which was excellent.

I just think this series of books is so fun. I hope they do another one for Return of the Jedi. The audiobook for this excellent...with the different narrators and sound effects. I highly recommend...even for the casual fan like myself. Highly entertaining!

First, all proceeds from this book go to First Book - a nonprofit that provides new books and learning materials to disadvantaged children.

A collection of stories from the point of view of minor characters and behind-the-scenes characters that add to the story told in Empire Strikes Back. Some characters are known, others are waaaay behind the scenes like the runners, taunton carers, scientists and others. They do add to filling in the details on the worlds the events take place even if some don't relate directly to the action. The stories reveal characters that are involved in those worlds and aware of the politics and trends and inner lives of the observers and observed.
Of course, being by different authors, not all stories are equal, but I enjoyed all of them to different degrees.

This was a better read than the first book, though I did get bored when the stories based on Cloud City started. Those were the worst of the bunch, imo. Overall, it's a nice read, but nothing memorable.

My favourite was "There Is Always Another by Mackenzi Lee" which was from Obi Wan's pov. I liked it, since it shows how close Anakin and Obi Wan were, and mentions Ahsoka.

The last chapter didn't disappoint. After the previous book, I was looking forward to something similar. It left me laughing, and ended the book on a good note.

Like the first book in this series, this takes place from the very beginning of The Empire Strikes Back to the very end. Short stories that tell the story but from secondary and tertiary (or further away) characters.

I loved the story of the Wampa that attacked Luke. The look into the life of Han's Tauntaun. The absolutely hysterical and very quick story of the Dragon Snake that tried to eat R2. I felt the loneliness of the space worm that temporarily housed the Falcon. Or the observations of the Dark Side Force on Dagobah and the med droid that reattached Luke's hand.

I found I liked those stories more than those of the humans, but all the stories were well done. Some made me laugh out loud, some made me sniffle. And all were read with skill by some of my most favorite narrators - Marc Thompson, Jonathan Davies, January Lavoy, Emily Zu Wheller. And I also found some new readers that I need to look into.

If you are a fan of Star Wars, especially Empire Strikes Back, do not pass this book up. I cannot wait for Return of the Jedi to come out now.

Like the last time, some stories were hit or miss with me. But the best ones to my mind were Cat Valente's story about the space slug and the one about the chef who had to suddenly prepare a meal for Vader in Cloud City. Yikes! lol

Oh, and exhausted!Obi-Wan who is over Skywalker shenanigans!
