"“You’re home,” he says softly. “I am,” I say. And I mean it."

A perfect bookend to this series, I loved Southern Bombshell and seeing Milly and Nate find their way back to one another. This book had the right amount of angst, the right amount of drama, the perfect amount of heat and a beautiful love story I couldn't get enough of!!

Another great addition to the series. I was worried how things were going to work out for Millie since her HEA was engaged to someone else since live triangles aren’t my thing but Jessica Peterson did a great job. Sometimes relationships blossom into more and sometimes they falter because 2 people realize maybe they are better friends than more than that. So much more to this story than just what appears on the surface….this is about family and what makes a family, sacrificing our wants for others, and being so absorbed in work that we forget how to let go and have fun. Really enjoyed this one.

I felt in love with the Beauregards from the moment John Riley Beauregard & Annabelle found each other and I couldn't stop reading-listening-bookmarkin--highlightin' the shit out of these books.. And now Millie made me happy, cry, horny and all mushy inside.. So I came to the decisions that I'm gonna read it all again!

FINALLY! Milly and Nate’s story is here! If you have been following this series from the beginning, then you know how much we have all been waiting to find out more about their story. We get a brief glimpse into Milly and Nate’s relationship from two years ago. We see the intense chemistry they have, but it also happens to be the night that Nate ended things. Then we jump to the present where Milly is running a successful wedding planning business and Nate is engaged to a girl named Reese and they want to have Milly plan their wedding.

I want to say that if you are bothered by stories involving a man in a relationship with someone else throughout the story then please beware. While there is no cheating, I know this kind of thing isn’t for everyone

Milly is independent, hard working and strong. She puts all her time and energy into her wedding planning business. I was very impressed with how Milly handled planning Nate and Reese’s wedding. As much as it broke her, she even asked questions about their relationship. She pushed her pain aside and promised to give Reese the wedding of her dreams. From the way the story starts with Nate dumping Milly, you would think he would be a classic jerk. He might be a tiny bit grumpy but he is actually very sweet. Nate has a love of whiskey and a passion for books. He has a bad relationship with his father which has influenced some of his life decisions.

There was so much chemistry between Nate and Milly and the tension between them was scorching hot. But Nate was not going to do anything because he loved Reese. The more he was around Milly, the more he felt all those things for her again and it made him start to see the flaws in his relationship with Reese.

In my opinion, when Nate and Milly finally got together, it happened a little too quickly. But I enjoyed how they opened up to each other and aired everything out. There were emotional scenes as well as light and funny scenes. I loved how they fought to be together this time around. Now I am going to be praying every day that Jessica writes a story for Reese!

Milly’s story is my favorite of the series! I loved the Romeo/Juliet aspect, and the absolute swooniest, grouchy Nate.

There are so many deeper level topics addressed in this story: Marginless living, taking the guilt and responsibility that belongs to someone else, honesty…

Millie and her mom, June, are examples of women spending their lives always busy for the sake of others, margins so full there is no room for breathing. Millie, with Nate’s help, learns to once again live a life with margin. And June learns that lesson as well.

Nate has the weight of the world- well, his father- on his shoulders. Nate’s sense of responsibility means he has taken on his dads self-induced trouble, and walks away from his own happiness to protect Millie. Luckily, enough is enough. And in the process, he finds a family that’ll be there to live and support him, rather than belittle and use him.

Bravo Jessica!

Wonderfully brilliant, bless their food lovin, poetry quotin, boozy little country hearts y'all! This is Milly's story, and if you read her brothers' stories you were waiting for this one, but even if you hadn't you can start here if you want and still be 100% invested (though you WILL want to know her brothers stories so why wouldn't you start there?) either way you are sure going to love Millie and Nate's story. Millie is very type A, compartmentalized, convinced she doesn't have TIME for love, always go, go, go. I guess she never heard the all work and no play theory. Nonetheless she is a wedding planner and agrees to plan the wedding of Nate (her 'one that got away'). Nate is a people pleaser, and the 'responsible for everyone else's happiness so no time for his own' type. He's in a very good partnership, ready to tie the knot with someone who is a great fit on paper, but they lost their spark long ago if they ever had one, and it just takes them both a long time to realize it. There is family drama (though no cheating just in case thats on your no-no list), lots of food, lots of booze, and a LOT of steamy stuff on the way to this well earned HEA. These two are so great together, and you are really going to feel like you are right there on the mountain with them. Always one of my favorite authors because of the emotions she invokes, I can't wait to see where she takes us next! (I do hope we revisit Reese at some point though, I liked her and it took guts to do what she did)

I just don't think I could love Southern Bombshell more- it's such a fantastic conclusion to the North Carolina Highlands and the epilogue is *chef's kiss*. Blue Mountain Farm is such a magical place and Beauregard sister Milly's story was sweet perfection. After we got a glimpse of Nate Kingsley in earlier books in the series, I wasn't sure how this pairing would go. I do love a good family feud, but I enjoyed that Nate was decidedly NOT the villain the Beauregard brothers feared him to be. Full of steam, heart, and delicious food and drink, Southern Bombshell tied the perfect bow for me. A joy indeed!

This was my first book from this author so I haven’t read the other books in the series but I never felt lost. The Beauregard and Kingsley families have a history like Romeo and Juliet that has doomed their relationship from the start, forcing them to stay a secret, and forcing decisions to be made. Nate returns to Milly’s life, with a fiancé in tow, and asks Milly to plan their wedding. Milly wants answers to why Nate left her so suddenly but he can’t give that to her. The lines get blurred when situations change and truths are finally revealed. Second change with lots of angst and steamy parts.
