With this volume of A Devil and Her Love Song, one of the main conflicts of the series thus far comes to an end, namely the conflict around the choir competition. The day of the competition is there already and
leads, after another attack of Maria’s teacher against her, to the class forming a closer bound against the teacher which was so great so see. It was also so amazing how Maria was able to turn the situation towards the end
. We also have some more drama because of a camera team that is at the school, and this drama was entertaining as well since it’s so over the top.

Besides this, our characters finally leave the school for once, and Maria gets her first kiss which made me realize that the romance is not really the focus of the series, besides everyone having a crush on Yusuke for some reason lmao. Of course, everything about this series is quite melodramatic but that is what makes this series so enjoyable to me. It was also great that in this volume, the side characters become more relevant, and some get names for the first time, while the backstories of others are explored more.

I liked how everyone saw Maria for who she truly in in this volume. It was so nice. I enjoyed the choral competition. I really liked what happened with Ayu. I'm really enjoying this series! Maria is great. I love her unique personality. I'm curious about her past with her ex-best friend. Anyway, great volume! 4 stars. Oh, and I hate the teacher!

I love all of the character growth in this series! It's very powerful and compelling. I like Ayu now, haha. Also, the teacher is awful. Just completely unredeemable. At least with the high schoolers, a lot can be forgiven because they're young and still learning. But an adult, and a teacher at that, should know better and act more maturely. I hope he gets what's coming to him! 4.5 stars.

I really have to start buying this series. I keep reading it at the bookstore and by the time I get around to reviewing it all I remember is my overwhelming love for Maria and her truth-telling friend making abilities and I don't have the volume on hand to give better details. :( But let us lean upon my weak memory to note how much I love this series' approach to that familiar Antagonistic Schoolgirls storyline. All compassion, all sincerity, all the time! It's gr8. 5 stars

There's not much plot to this series. It seems to be more character driven than anything else. I get that the main point is Maria's quest for redemption and to learn how to love herself, but I wish it had a better plot. It's just one petty occurrence after another.

I don't see that it's really going anywhere. I like the series ok, this is a low 3, but I think it would be better if there was an actual story with substance and out of the events Maria begins to come into her own. I also think there might be too much introspection going on. I'd like it more if it wasn't same self recriminations replaying in each volume like a broken record.

Awww! Ok, this volume was much more satisfying than any of the others. For once, the rest if her classmates finally seem to understand Maria. I guess her bravery and honesty in singing finally make them see her sincerity. Hana is still annoying, but at least the other students can see past her now. And that teacher is still an ass, but I'm hoping that film crew draws the school principal's attention to how terrible he is.

I'm glad Maria's words helped convince Ayu that it's better to be yourself. Shin was right when he said that being around her helps everyone become a better person, and I'm glad he helped her realize that she too can become the person she wants to be. I have to admit, I squeed a bit when Shin suddenly kissed Maria, because he couldn't help it, and she looked so adorable. And when he came to school all sick, just to see her and help her. Clearly Maria likes Shin as well, and is prepared to see what happens once this choral competition is over. I can't wait to see what happens with them!

It will also be interesting to see how Yuzuke reacts when he finds out their feelings. He clearly also cares for Maria, and I have a feeling his reaction isn't going to be very calm or rational.

It will also be interesting to see what is up with Maria's former best friend, and to find out why exactly she said such hurtful things to Maria. Next volume, please!
