This was basically a wattpad story. All dialogue, repeated scenarios, pretty much no action.

I liked this. It was really fun! It took me a minute to get into it because Nathan and Moira seemed too familiar with each other at the beginning, which was confusing because they had never met. At other parts, Moira would be difficult and bratty for no reason at all, which seemed odd to me. Overall, it was a fun read. I enjoyed the characters and the adventure of trying to find Moira’s betrothed was fun. The end dragged on a bit long and was bogged down by too much inner monologue, but it had a satisfactory (albeit predictable) ending and a sweet epilogue.

2.5 stars. I felt like this book was overly long and a bit boring. It did have a satisfying ending.

Romance isn’t my favorite genre without another genre being first, and while the historical aspects weren’t much more than an afterthought, it really was a fun book. Funnier than I expected and a lighthearted read.

Great clean regency romance. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator as well

Six stars! This was my favorite book of the year! It was funny and witty. Moira was such a great character and the banter between her and Nathan was hilarious. Every time they went to an inn, I’d end up giggling. Rebecca Connolly does such a witty job in her writing.

The more emotional parts were well done, too: when Nathan retinues with Spencer again, it was quite tender. Two men, both filled with regret and so willing to forgive, letting go of the past! I almost cried, it was so sweet and beautiful.

It was quite cute at the start and finish. I really enjoyed the epilogue, and I loved some of the banter between Moira and Nathan. However,
SpoilerI could do without the several chapters near the end where Nathan and Moira lamented that they could never be together. I mean, c'mon, of course they're going to end up together, so why add those unnecessary 50 (more or less) pages of text? How about when they realize that they love each other, they actually say it instead trying to "forget" each other and go on like "normal?"

Sigh. This is just one of my pet peeves with a few books I've read, not just this one. All in all, I still liked this book and I enjoyed the Nathan's gentlemanly counterpart to Moira's not-so-ladylike personality, and vice versa.

Also I must ask because I'm genuinely curious, how does one perspire in a maddeningly attractive way? (Refer to page 246 of the book.)

DNF - I can't stand the heroine, Moira. Why is she rude to Nathaniel? I knits I'm in the minority here since so many reviewers found her to be spunky and strong, but she drove me nuts. It also was supposed to take place in regency-era but their speech and actions were nothing of that time period. That was bugging me too.

I really like Nathan, but cannot stand Moira. It’s taking too long to get to the point, and I dislike her so much I don’t even care to finish.
