Years ago, I happened across a description for a story about two men who have a loving, committed relationship and their housekeeper who they have fallen in love with. Unfamiliar with the MM genre, this was one of those times when a completely unexpected book shows up as a suggested read because people who purchased the book you’re considering also purchased it. It seemed interesting and I wanted to read it, but somehow I lost track of it without ever writing down the name of the author or adding it to my tbr for a later date. Fast forward to now and boy am I glad to have accidentally lost the information to the book that caught my interest. That book comes later in this series. Now I get to read them in order and see what the circumstances are that make them the characters that caught my attention in the first place.

At first I was a little thrown, I couldn’t quite understand what was going on and how these characters manage to end up together since the author kept gave us a glimpse of Tommy then we don’t see what becomes of him. Instead we are shown Tyler’s sad tale of looking for love in all the wrong places before he finally meets Tommy. Tyler manages to fall in love several times, get married twice, dabble in BDSM and write best selling novels before he ever meets Tommy. To say that Tyler is quite accomplished is an understatement. However his air of fragility and needing someone to take care of him was at times off putting. I wasn’t sure how successful the relationship would be since he seemed to fall in love so easily throughout the book. However, ever the romantic, I chose to see it as Tyler taking wrong turns in his quest to find someone to love who will love him in return. Thank you, Tommy.

The dynamic was surprisingly good, although it had its moments. The story flowed very well once you realized that this book was not so much about the two of them as it was about Tyler’s journey. That being said, it was a long and sometimes sad journey, but very worthwhile. The real intimacy between Tommy and Tyler is at times breathtaking.

I would highly recommend this to readers of MM romance who want to read about more than just the sex.

This was barely rated two stars. Beyond the fact that the main female character has what may be my least favorite female name (and the nickname doesn’t help), the story lacks much substance. For such a wonderful relationship, the triad doesn’t seem to do much more than have lots and lots of sex. That’s all well and good. Sex IS expected in an erotic novel. But can there be a little realism? Unless the guys are taking that certain little blue pill, I doubt they, being in their 30s, would be able to recover for so many rounds in a row. I was bored most of the time I was reading.

5 Love Slave for Two: Stars

So in the Beginnings we meet and fell in love with Tommy and Tyler and we got there story of how they fell in love.

We also meet Nevvie right at the end of their story and in this story we fall in love with Nevvie and get to read as they fall in love with her and she with them.

It’s a crazy dynamic but it works. They all need each other in different ways. Sometimes Tyler needs to be the protector and Nevvie gives him that whereas Tommy likes to be the protector of Tyler.

I love that they all are on the same page, I love that Tyler and Tommy were the ones to save Nevvie from her ex it wasn’t one over the other.

I liked the narration, though sometimes I didn’t like the tones of Nevvie but you kind of learn to like it.
Over all I enjoyed this story .. hence the 2rd read ;)

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I absolutely loved it. TnT is a dynamic relationship. I kind of wish there was more danger/conflict to the story, but I still really loved it.

2.75 stars erotic stars

This is such a deja vu moment. I had to go through my menage folder to figure it out. Well this actually came out maybe 6 months before Barbara Elsborg's [b:Susie's Choice|7144519|Susie's Choice|Barbara Elsborg|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1258230210s/7144519.jpg|7408991]. Meek timid women who are battered and bruised emotionally and physically. Gay couple, one a writer, fall for her as their house worker, maid. They move her in and create a triad and weak timid women flourishes while they protect her. Gay couple, one a writer, move maid into home after falling for her. Hmm... were they talking to one another to see who could write it better?

Reason for stars. Well the main couple had pretty much no chemistry without Nevaeh. I liked them at first. After nevvie, they did not have play time on screen except one scene where Nevvie tells them what to do. I felt their "love slave" play was a bit tired at the end. So as an erotica, this was good/OK but not great. The best part was where they do come together and that was at the 1/2 way point though the push to the 1/2 way point was dragged out. Still, I might have said 3 1/2 at that point in the story but it just went downhill on drag. The set up of her mad and rushing away... after months (6?) really? You do not confront them and this was over the stupidest of things. Wow, she promotes it and she is going to run. That just did it for me. I did like the ending and the court, but thought Alex's attack was over the top. Oh and the guys fighting takes away any chemistry they had until Nevvie brings them back. This is again with Nevvie and not on their own. So ended up just liking that part of the story too. So was between meh, and good.

Update at 67%---------
It is OK. I'm a bit bored but I think it might be more that I'm not in the mood and it is a bit of deja vu. We finally get them together after they miss obvious indicators that all parties are interested. So there is a big set up for the Halloween party and that was actually pretty good but not worth the slog to get there. I mean both characters have the ability to move the relationship forward but don't and neither guy tells her anything, except Tyler saying "do you trust me?" argh. So... not my favorite and very little erotic for erotica, siren publishing.

Nevvie Barton could never be called anything other than a survivor, with a tough life growing up and an even harder one as ayoung woman her life has been riddled with bad luck and poor choices. The only bright spot in her life has been Tyler Paulson and Thomas Kinsey who she has been cleaning their house once a week. A special bond has developed between the three of them, but Nevvie knows it could never lead to anything since Thomas and Tyler are life long partners.

What Nevvie doesn't understand is that Tyler and Thomas are bi, they are dedicated to one another, but they are also wanting to add Nevvie to their family. With another stroke of bad luck for Nevvie, Tyler and Thomas step in to help her heal and begin a new life, hopefully including them.

Wonderful story. 4.75. It starts off a little crazy trying to figure everything out but overall a riveting tale. Each of the characters have strengths and weaknesses in their makeup, the one beautiful thing about the story is that the three are able to fill in where needed. When they make mistakes, one of the others is willing to step in. Some very intense moments in this story.

Let's put it this way... I liked it enough to finish it. The story concept was interesting and compelling, however, I had serious issues with a couple things that continued to frustrate me throughout the entire story.

The guys rescue Nevvie from an abusive situation. I get that. But I would think they would want to ensure she can protect herself. Instead they spend the rest of the book pampering her and treating her like she's fragile. My biggest pet peeve in books has always been weak women. Nevvie has zero backbone. The old saying What doesn't kill you makes you stronger does not apply to Nevvie. Instead in her case, what didn't kill her made her a weak willed whinner who depends on others to save her over and over again. It would have been a much better story if in the end she didn't have to have Thomas and Tyler save her yet again. If she were able to actually save herself for once.

It also bothered me that Nevvie seems to have come between Thomas and Tyler. She mentions more than once her deeper connection with Tyler. The guys are willing to give each other up in order to keep her! This bothered me.

Annoying heroine aside, I did enjoy reading this and look forward to more from this author. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a stronger heroine in the future though.

Unexpectedly sweet, and didn't have me mentally reaching for a red pen. (Something I can't often say about this subgenre.)

CW:
heavy domestic violence leading to medical examination and hospital/ER care, mentions of past rape

There are a lot of problems with this book, most of which revolve around the fact that it's one of the author's first novels and showing the roughness around the edges. I could list all the issues, but ultimately, I enjoyed this book. (I mean, unlike certain popular books, this book actually includes HEALTHY light BDSM dynamics! That alone is worth a read!)

The author did a great job of developing the characters and their relationships both in and out of bed. Tyler's insecurities and how they impact the way he lives and interacts with others was particularly interesting to explore.

Extra points to the author for taking a tone/theme (which happens to be hurt/comfort in this book) and just...adhering to it with brutal dedication. That consistent tone made it very easy to dive into the story and not want to come up for air.

I do wish some of the interpersonal conflicts between the three main characters were solved via means other than sex, but *shrug* it's a romance novel. Again, I ultimately enjoyed the book and want to continue the series.
