Okay i still think the same as i do for the first book, volume 1. Both volumes could have been written better. Less of the cliches and repeating information we already know. At the end of the book i was getting a headache at reading list after list of information i already read. If the reader is following the story they wouldn't need a paragraph every few pages explaining something which is told a fee chapters back or in the first book.

However it is a good story the characters are down to earth and its easy to visualise while reading. It would be a better book series if the author just stopped repeating information.

I don't regret buying it and would tell people to go buy it if they like this sort of theme. But i would warn them of the mass amount of repetition.

It seemed kind of slow compared to the first volume, but I can say that things escalated at the end and she leaves you wanting more! I can't wait to get the third volume and see whats in store for Morgan and how she is going to deal with the traumatic state we left her in.

I just wanna start out by saying that this volume is sooo much better than the first. We move on from the honeymoon phase of the love affair between Morgan and Cal and get to the juicier stuff.

I don't wanna give too many spoilers for potential readers, but realizing the part Cal played in this surprised me. I liked his character, but I knew that something wasn't quite right with his mama. She looked kinda shady to be honest. But Cal!! Why?! And that ending on Spellbound! The feels!

Hunter grew on me. He always seemed cold and hard but I enjoy seeing another side of him. The mystery with his parents isn't a major theme in this book, but it's definitely important.

Morgan finally grew a pair of ovaries and started thinking and feeling on her own. Even though other characters said she was strong and powerful, in my opinion she wasn't. Yes, her magick is oh-so powerful, but she never seemed to stand on her own, always running toward Cal. I like seeing her independence and I can't wait to see her grow magickally, emotionally, and spiritually.

My only complaint is that I wish I could have seen more of the coven and Morgan's non-witch friends. That's all.

I am definitely reading Volume 3. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Morgan Rowlands, blood witch, teenager, good friend. All the above describe Morgan but in this book she kind of realizes each one of those character traits out a little bit more. She is one of the most powerful witches people have seen in a long while but she is not initiated so she cannot control her powers. She realizes that she is confused about her hatred for Hunter and might even realize that Cal (her gorgeous bf) is evil and may want something more from her then just her love. Also, Bree and she have been best friends forever but they are enemies up until the point where Bree realizes that even though Cal tore the two girls apart she cannot let Morgan die.
After Cal tries to kill her Morgan distances herself from everything he influenced in her life. She realized that the presents her gave her are all spelled and therefore causes her to get closer to Hunter just to figure out her powers. But Hunter is better for more than just spells. Things heat up between the two characters but Morgan still finds herself thinking about Cal.
It makes you just want to slap her that she is daydreaming about Cal, when he tried to kill her and she has beautiful Hunter there falling in love with her. But Cal is her guilty pleasure and you can tell that he is not done with her. Upon returning Morgan sees him and he tries to convince her to come back to him. But she has fallen in love with Hunter and is willing to let Cal go, but she has to make sure that they do not hurt one another.
The final battle in the book could have gone on a little longer and had more detail. Sometimes I felt as if Morgan was just standing there dumbfounded as Selene threw spell after spell at her. I do not understand why exactly Cal would jump in front of one of his mothers spells to protect Morgan even though he manipulated her, lied to her, and tried to kill her. He claims that he loves her but something is not right. His mother then dies miraculously and Hunter and Morgan bail without knowing for sure how she died. To me this is a set up that their battle with Selene is not over.
I do like this series and I enjoy watching Morgan come into her powers and realize her true love. But there are parts that I just want to scream at her vulnerability and naive qualities. But as the series progresses I hope she does too.
