Who else is absolutely in love with the Christmas Escape series? Please be team yes, because if you’re not you are missing out, and as Madi would say “I’m not only on that team, I’m coach, captain, and cheerleader.” Although, of course, she is referencing my new favorite (half) Frenchman, Rémy. ♥️ and believe me when I say team Rémy is definitely the place to be!!

From my first laugh out loud moment on page 2 I knew I was going to love this book. You can tell Martha Keyes is a world traveler, as she took her personal experiences and threw them all at sweet Madi, who is convinced France hates her.

J’ai bien aimé! C’était léger et facile à lire. J’ai cru en leur histoire bien que rapide. Ça m’a donné envie d’aller visiter Paris.

This is my third book in this series (although they are all stand alones) and have enjoyed them all.  Fun holiday reads.

This love-triangle-that-wasn't could have joined the others I don't care for because I cannot stand cheating. Luckily for me, the formulaic love triangle I've grown accustomed to was handled in a different way that had me equal parts relieved and jonesing for some french bread and cheese. And can I just tell you that I want to visit Martha's Paris? The one I've seen is not quite as magical and lovely, but I'll blame the scaffolding and construction that is everywhere right now while they prepare for the Olympics.
Madi hops off a plane at LAX with a dream and a cardigan - nope, scratch that. But now that song is stuck in my head - in Paris and encounters a series of unfortunate events. She has no luggage, the taxi driver ripped her off, and she just threw a shampoo bottle at an interloper who ends up being her Host for the Holidays. Her boyfriend is MIA and every fear is coming to fruition. Remy to the rescue!
I sincerely hope that Martha continues writing in this genre alongside her historicals. The only thing I didn't love was the overabundance of similes - to which a lot of contemporary indie authors us. This sweet romance has a very relatable heroine, forced proximity, and some swoony feels in an elevator. Remy is such a lovable cinnamon roll it's practically a crime.
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

There is just something about Paris in books that I can't get enough of!

Madi heads to Paris hoping to explore the city with her boyfriend, and maybe head back home a newly engaged woman. However thanks to him, his busy work schedule and his booking of a small room for her to rent during her visit, Madi is left alone far too often.

Rémy is helping out his friend who owns the Airbnb. He is immediately my favourite character. Gentle, safe, comforting and considerate. The blossoming attraction between Madi and Rémy is wonderful, I loved how he was respectful of her relationship and ensuring that she felt comfortable.

A cute, fun romcom full of chemistry.

Makes me want to go back to Paris and spend more time just existing there. I don't usually enjoy stories where an MC is already in a relationship when they meet their love interest but this one was done in a way that didn't bother me or make it feel like cheating.

Host for the Holidays by Martha Keyes is a really fun, super sweet Contemporary Romance that I loved. I had so much fun devouring this delightful read. Like book one in this series, Host for the Holidays is an escape-for-the-holidays story. This time, the reader is transported to Paris, France during the Christmas season. My favorite aspect to this novel is Keyes’s characterization of her three unique main characters: Madi, Remy, and Paris, France. I’ll start with Paris. I’ve never been to Paris, but I have always envisioned it to be a city unlike any other place on this earth. The way Keyes depicts Paris makes it sound phenomenal. I would love to see the Eiffel Tower light up the way Madi sees it. The camembert and baguette that Madi eats every morning sounds divine. And the various museums and gardens Madi and Remy visit are now definite must-go places on my Bucket List. I think I fell in love with Paris after reading this story! As far as Madi and Remy go, I loved them immediately. Their attraction is prompt and their journey to friendship and love is well-paced and totally believable. As far as each character goes, Madi is delightful. She is sweet, talented, and brave. And Remy is perfect. He is kind, understanding, and pays attention to details. Together, they are one of my favorite Contemporary Romance couples ever. I love how they bring out the best in each other. At the start of this story, Madi has some hang-ups. She knows she does and wants to fix them, but she just hasn’t had any success…until Remy. Remy is a calming influence. It’s safe to make mistakes or have mini freak-outs around him as he never, ever judges Madi or looks down on her as if something is wrong with her. This allows Madi to learn from her fears and phobias and grow. And it’s not just Madi who is transformed. Remy comes to realize some of his own truths as well and makes the necessary changes that allow him to become the best version of himself. I really love how great Madi and Remy are for one another. They make a great team!

Host for the Holidays is a really fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading this story and I highly recommend it. If you are in the mood for a well-written, highly engaging Romance that will transport you to Paris, France, check out Host for the Holidays today. You will love it, too!

I purchased a copy of this novel in eBook form from Amazon.com on November 17, 2022, in order to review. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Christmas in Paris! Dual POV, first person, forced proximity, stand-alone book in “series” -
This was the best book to read leading up to Christmas. The banter between Madi and Rémy and the way their individual personalities mingled were absolute perfection. Additionally, the author’s style of writing is so immersive that I actually felt like I was right there in Paris as Madi worked to overcome her fears and Rémy struggled to maintain a professional relationship as a stand-in host.
It was the perfect book length, had a great ending, and had just the right amount of French thrown in. The author even added pop culture references which made the characters that much more relatable (Harry Potter, Friends, etc). J’adore!

This was such a cute holiday read! I was OBSESSED with the friends to lovers relationship and the way Remy pined after Madi was amazing also. The tension between them was balanced perfectly with witty banter and cute moments. I loved the way the author talked about Paris and it was just such a fun book!
