(4 star rating by my middle school self more than a decade ago!!!) I probably read this book before 2010. At the time, I was a big fan of Sophie Kinsella and her romcoms. I don't think I'd like it as much reading it now but it'll continue to have a special place in my teen years.

This book was hilarious and romantic and amazing from start to finish! It took me only a day to read which is the best kind book in my opinion. My favorite Sophie Kinsella book so far! I absolutely love this book because the characters were so vivid and real. The plot and its many twists and turns had me squirming and laughing! Fantastic book!

A good romance/book/romance book/movie. I don’t really read/like a lot of romance books (for some reason I think I prefer romance/chick lit movies but I’m trying to get into reading more romance/chick lit) but I liked this one a lot.

This was average chick-lit fare but a fun way to pass the time.

this was so fucking hilarious and swoon worthy! i love when the main couple has good chemistry and flowing dialogue! and gOD I HATE SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT BUT i was able to handle it for emma and jack because they are Good Eggs who i hope continue to make it work. this story is just such a sweet, cute, and funny romance. emma and jack are a delight, the plot is exactly the ish i fall for, the characters are hilARIOUS (jemima is wild, kerry goT WHAT SHE DESERVED, emma—my, my emma, and jack, the clever sly fool who gOD KEPT TEASING HER! LOVED THOSE BITS).

although i still have two questions:
1) did grandpa ever forgive her?
2) who, exactly, is sven? (ok i might be slow but that was p vague imo)

i can’t wait to read the other two sophie kinsella books i’ve got up north!

Emma Corrigan didn't mean to do it, she couldn't help herself. She'd just left a terrible meeting with a few former partners of the company she worked for, Panther Cola, she hates flying, and turbulence can kill! It just happened, she didn't even know the guy sitting next to her but her fear of dying just wouldn't let her shut up. So she told him all of her secrets. -- She thinks her boyfriend looks like a Ken doll, She's killing her coworkers plant with orange juice, She lied about her test scores on her resume. None of this matters though right? So what she told all of her secrets to this man sitting next to her on the plane, she's never going to see him again. The only thing is....She does.

I think I would have enjoyed this book much more if I were older. It was a cute little contemporary read, but I couldn't really relate to the main character because she's at a different point in her life than I am right now and it was hard to really understand where she was coming from some of the time.

I decided to read this book because one of the booktubers that I'm subscribed to said that the main character reminded her of Felicity Smoke from the TV show Arrow. I LOVE Felicity, but I will say...she definitely is NOTHING like this character in my opinion.

Emma Corrigan is kind of quirky and funny but she's also self conscious and a little lacking in the confidence department. She second guesses herself all of the time and seems to always need someone elses opinion on what she should do in certain situations. And that is what kind of bothered me about this book the most. Instead of following her heart and doing what she thought was right, she would seek the help of her two roommates Lissy and Jemima (I hate that name) and then a whole bunch of unnecessary and avoidable things would happen.

That's what this book is...A series of avoidable events.

I didn't really like the main male character Jack. He seemed kind of disingenuous to me and I couldn't decide if I was supposed to like him and trust him or if I was supposed to be looking out for him to do something shady.

To be honest, I would have probably enjoyed this much more as a romantic comedy starring Kathy Heigl and Chris Pine.

What I liked most about this book were the cute little moments. Like Emma's conversations with her grandad about Panther Bars and the horrendous date night and the dance show.

Reading this book was like walking through molasses. But those little moments of sweetness made it bearable.

...I would really like to see this as a movie though.

This is not my usual style of book, so for this reason, I'll keep my review shorter than usual. Overall this was fun to listen to and probably qualifies as a fun read. (The narrator was pretty excellent, I thought.) It was an entertaining book that I enjoyed listening to in the car, though especially since it's not my style of book, I probably wouldn't have read it in print. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I'd definitely recommend it to someone who wants a light, funny read, likes the author, and likes this genre.

I also liked one of the messages I got out of this book: that yes, we do all keep secrets, but sometimes it's really just not necessary. Oftentimes you just cause more frustration for yourself by not coming clean.

This book fully deserves 5 stars for bringing me out of the gloom, which I had felt while reading the awfully boring 'Classic' 'Rebecca'.
This book is a typical chicklit, leave-your-brains-at-home kind of book and I enjoyed it.
A welcome break from all the psychological thrillers I have been reading recently. The heroine of this novel has secrets, but they are not gory resulting in multiple murders.
