Short and thought provoking, particularly the section where they are watching a corporate training video that is chock full of cringy gender norms.

Love the idea of the box furniture store being rife with wormholes to other dimensions.

Lots of exploration as to the ins and outs of managing a relationship and good enough to have looking for the next installment, but did not blow me away by any means.

You should know that I checked this book out from the library, read the entire thing, and then bought it all within the same day—it’s that good

This was a fun quick in-between read. Having read Horrorstör a few years ago, I was curious how this one would compare in the IKEA-but-make-it-weird/creepy element. I was surprised at how soon we left our little “IKEA” behind but enjoyed seeing the bits of different alternate universes the characters ran through on their dangerous journey. I liked our MCs but the story was a little bit too short and I would have liked to see more of them. I know there is more to the series so maybe in future installments?

a fun adventure with heart and critique. very short, though I took me a bit to read as I haven't been in a reading mood/busy, but I think with any novella it feels a bit brief and I wished it was longer, went deeper, showed us more worlds and more of the relationship at the heart of it. I think it was a silly fun idea that has a lot of potential, I'll consider reading on in the series. at times the relationship between the protagonists was frustrating in a way that annoyed me (in line with their characters like it made complete sense to the plot but just was a bit annoying to read them so upset with each other but that shows their flaws and their pain and hurt and stuff so can't fault that, that's just my preference) but I did find their connection sweet and well done as the story went on. there's definitely a lot more to explore in this world so I think I would've enjoyed this more if it was longer
