What The what?? The character set ups at the beginning were based on nothing and disappeared within chapters .
Like why was he throwing parties, why his father was scouted with him , what his mother was like.
And then when you meet then they are all lovely people ??? So confusing .

Even though this book is about college students, you don't fell like you are reading a YA book. The characters had some good depth to them so you could connect with them and I actually really like how both Raya and Kade were fairly snarly towards each other as I would expect this in real life. This is not quiet a slow burn read but more of a great steady pace that keeps building up and definitely kept me wanting to read more. This book has got me intrigued in regards to the series so looking forward to reading the next in the series Tagged & Ashed.

This is an honest review for The Assassin's reading reviewing group.

I am torn. I liked this book because of the story and Kade but I really disliked Raya. For me she was annoying when she would go on and on about how poor she is. He never made her being poor a big deal but she put it on him and made a big deal about it.
The story was a good quick read but I did skim some of the parts where it was Raya's thoughts because they were always the same and it got boring to read. I would have liked to have had more if their relationship and just more depth in general, I felt this book just skimmed the surface of the story.
As I said, I did like it and I give it three stars but it could've been four if she didn't annoy me so much.

This is the second time I’m this book and I still can’t get enough of it. I love C.M. Owens writings and I think that I’m going to re-read all her books. Raya and Kade are that couple that are trying to fight their attraction but are failing big time. I liked how smart Raya is and how much she loves her family even with their background. Kade was a little wierd, but in the end he saw how awesome Raya is and that’s important. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars and let’s see Kade’s pov now!

Boring. Cliche. A bit ridiculous. Well actually very ridiculous. Also, as someone who actually skies: IF YOU ARE SKIING FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE BIGGEST PAIN WILL BE IN YOUR LEGS NOT YOUR ASS. LIKE HOW ARE YOU FALLING ON YOUR ASS WITH TWO HUGE AS SKIES. It’s so difficult to “fall on your ass” as this author puts it, as you go down a slope. You only fall on your sides. Like even if you fall forward you skid on your hips and thighs on the side.

1.5/5. Rounded to 2 because I’m feeling generous.
