Rhage and Mary! I enjoyed their story in the early books. I love hearing more about them. I have always felt the brotherhood is a family. This book really brought this home. Loved the plot and stories of all the characters. Love this series!

4 stars!
My review won't be too long because there's already soooo many reviews that does this book justice.
This book starts off with a punch to the stomach and booooyyyy does it hook you in!

Well, this book made it feel like I was coming home after a very long time. I loved being in the head of the original Brothers. It was such a pleasant surprise that we got to be in Vishous' head! I love that man something fierce!

Rhage is always the happy and lightest Brother of them all. But in this book, he discovers he wants something he's never thought he would want; a child. The need for it consumes him until it makes him do things he wouldn't regularly do.
Mary makes work her life, choosing to ignore the distance between her and her mate until something happens that makes this no longer an option. Rhage and Mary are still as cute as ever! I loved seeing their love develop into something different and more beautiful.
Why only 4 stars? Well, to start, the language wasn't matching the characters. When it came to Mary's POV I found her narrative to be quite different than what we're used to. I went back to their first story and I was right. She seemed more "hood" in this one. It could be that Rhage was rubbing off on her but I don't know...
Also, I felt like this was more a "day in the life" of the Brothers since nothing really happened. Yes, we get "certain" things that might change the game but...I don't know. This series expanded more to just a paranormal romance series and I expected more. My head was still turning with all the POV switches but I mean, that was to be expected because it's J.R. Ward. I still throughly enjoyed this book because I love those men and that awesome fallen-angel, Lassiter. Did I mention that I love him!??
Zsadist!!! OHHH MANNN YOU MELTED MY HEART EVERY TIME YOU GRACED THESE PAGES! I LOVE YOU.

It took me awhile to pick this one up after the heartbreak of Shadows, but man am I glad that I did. A much happier ending to this one and overall a more upbeat book. How could it not be with Rhage as the main plotline?

I laughed and cried through this whole book. I think this is one of the best in the series.

I think this was mostly predictable, but hell, that's fine! I'll certainly take it over [b:The Shadows|21849362|The Shadows (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #13)|J.R. Ward|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1404479585s/21849362.jpg|41120683]. It's very sweet, and I'm very relieved. I feel like... I'm growing more critical of this series as I age, but I still enjoyed it.
I'm interested in the other stories that have been set up. (But also.... how much money is this series going to take out of me? Please, let me rest, I'm already so far behind.) Again, I suspect Jo's story might be easy to predict, but I'll still read it.

I wasn't too bothered about reading another book about Rhage and Mary. Still waiting on Lassiter's book but I thought I'd give it a shot. I haven't enjoyed any of the books since John Matthew. I'm glad I did because this book was everything. Yes I laughed, yes I cried, yes I was angry. I was on a roller coaster of emotions the whole way through. I don't want to give anything away and ruin it for others but this book is a definite must read

I don't even know where to begin. I enjoyed this book just because I'm a fan of this series and enjoyed being around the characters and their lives. With that said, this book was a waste of time. As much as I enjoy Rhage and Mary's relationship, I didn't need an entire book devoted to it...again. I felt like their issues with parenthood could've been a side plot in any other book (and would've have added to said book).
There are still so many questions left unanswered like what's going on with uprising of the glymera, how is Tres coping, what is going on with the Scribe Virgin, what is going on with the Bastards...the list literally goes on.
TBH, I'm just waiting for the Layla and Xcor's story and then I might stop reading this series (or just pass on any other books that are published in between).
