This book suprised me and I wasn't expecting it at all. I expected a 3 star semi generic thriller (sorry Georgina) but I was wrong. I loved Suzie. I felt for her, her grief, I felt it and my heart ached.
Emily. Oh Emily. I related far too much to her, it was painful but brilliant.

My only real gripes were the convience of another character relating to Suzie seemed a little contrived and unnecessary, and there being a few lose ends that hadn't been tied up by the final page. Nothing major but enough that I don't feel entirely satisfied.

This one was enjoyable; it was what I call a slow-burn thriller. It's definitely got the edge to be psychological and leaves you wondering what will happen but not in a way you feel panicked or on the edge. We also get a healthy look into how depression works and can fundamentally change pieces of you.

You see people every day, some you know and some you don't. Those who live next to you, how well do you actually know them?

I found it to be written with good details left behind like breadcrumbs. You can tell you are heading toward the answer but it's not spelled out quite yet. I like books like this because it forces your mind to slow down and enjoy the journey of the characters.

My only hang up was the end and the twist; it was a good shock factor but I like to have some solid reasoning behind some actions; senseless motivation isn't something that sits well.

Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK; One More Chapter for allowing me to review the ARC.

While I liked Suzie's chapters well enough, I found myself waiting to hear Emily's side of the story - or to hear from someone who knew her well. It saddened me that she basically had no-one, and this was her fate. Anyway. The "whodunnit" itself made total sense, but still came out of left-field. The book itself could have moved a little faster in general too.

That said, a great book to reconsider moving to and renting in a big city ;)

A really easy read! A good story right to the end and I liked the way you heard the story from 2 perspectives.
