This was such a lot of fun - a great Xmas read even though it it technically not a holiday romance novel. It was sort of a mix between a fairy tale (Cinderella if you squint - but really if you squint), a rom-com and Cheaper by the Dozen.

The romance was on the predictable side and probably the weakest part of the mix - it mostly was related to how hot both the leads were and how attracted to each other they were (I think, mostly because all I remember about the two of them together was that they were weak in knees or having an argument about the kids).

It was the kids and their interactions with the parents which made this book so much fun. The hero - their dad - is basically helpless in dealing with the dozen children he has and decided to find them a new mom. This sets off the whole adventure and it was a pretty funny adventure.

This would likely be a 3.5 star read for me at any other point in the year as the romance itself wasn't too strong but the family comedy nature for this really hit the spot right before Xmas.

And yes the extra half star is for missing my family but ... whatever gets you through the holidays this year I guess. This is not a bad way of doing that I think.

Randomly remembered this book while searching for another single father historical and decided to give it a reread.

It's definitely not a great read. Not particularly romantic and pretty lacking as far as romance and any sort of steam or relationship building scenes with the MCs. BUT it provides some decent entertainment that requires little thought or attention to enjoy.

Admittedly this author's style of writing feels a bit dated, which is to be expected. And I am definitely not really a fan of this sort of whimsical and dreamy eyed sort of cuteness this book offers. However, it is still a cute read to pass the time if you want a few laughs and a way to get out of your own head.

It's a little silly and a little too on the nose with the Cinderella/Fairytale comparisons but still interesting.

Predictable, yes but somehow despite the cheese and lacking in key areas it's still mildly entertaining.

Romance Twitter mentioned this, and the plot sounded intriguing. I tried to give it some grace because it was written in 1999, but phew the patriarchy was strong in this one. Bannor being a super bad dad was a pretty unappealing trait, and him not trusting Willow with the secret of his One Million children wasn't great either. I did like Willow. 2.5 stars.

This is the story of a man who is the epitome of weaponized incompetence and a poor girl with body betray syndrome. Willow, seriously. He is literally just a guy. HIT HIM WITH YOUR CAR!

Such a fun romance! Loved the female protagonist Willow as she matched wits with her new husband and his 12 children!! A very satisfying ending made this a perfect book to occupy me on a long rainy fall day!!

Oh I loved all of the characters...I laughed so much when the 'war' was going on between the kids and father. I found it very...well, hot...how the truce was reached. So good.

This would have been great if not for the "oh hey you're crying because you're knocked up and not because your husband is an ass" trope. Barf.

Una historia divertida, con un par de protagonistas que terminan en un matrimonio opuesto a lo que deseaban, con una docena de niños sin disciplina cometiendo mil travesuras y problemas de dicha época para acceder a los anticonceptivos. La disfruté mucho.
