An informative read backed by plenty of data. Bias is absolutely everywhere.

I got 2/3 of the way through this book. The author offers many anecdotes about how Americans are racially biased, but at the point where I stopped reading, she had not made any suggestions for improving the situation.

An absolutely amazing book uncovering the biases we have. Extremely relevant for understanding more about police brutality in the black community and potential solution to help get rid of our personal biases as well as the systematic racism that plagued our country

Dr. Jennifer comes to the table with the receipts! This is one of the best, most well researched, anti racist books I’ve read. Dr. Eberhardt is one of the world’s leading experts on unconscious bias. She provides both personal experience evidence, examples of historical bias, and interactions with the folks she has educated in unconscious bias.
I felt a lot of emotions while reading this. But mostly I felt privileged to be reading this book and receiving this information. If you are an anti racist reader. A lover of nonfiction. Or just someone who digs on facts and statistics in regards to humans and bias this book is a must read. I think everyone should read it personally. An easy 5/5

This was a hard book to get through. Not because it's not well written, but because many of the topics and examples talked about are things I have experienced or witnessed. With a mixture of real life examples and scientific terminology used to explain, this is a book I can suggest that everyone read.

A really really important book, examining some of the systematic roots of implicit racial bias on many levels of society and its destructive physical and mental effects on victims. Dr Eberhardt makes light of some recent examples which have seen black people suffer from bias, from abuse of power by police forces in Oakland to the riots and rise of Unite the Right in Charlotesville in 2017, the institutionalised racial bias in the school system and the impacts of racial profiling in the street and workplace. This book offers insight into how we can make ourselves aware of implicit bias in our everyday lives. Expertly written, melding together personal accounts and scientific reasoning, Eberhardt is at the top of her field to make light of this horrific, yet troublingly everyday phenomenon, and how we can do our bit to curb it.

An informative history on race bias and others kinds of bias too, but primarily race bias. Totally be taught in all our schools, too!
