I suppose the easiest thing to do with all these thoughts swirling in my head is to start at the beginning. Once upon a time, Pam Godwin decided to kidnap people and make us fall for their captors. She made it a conflicting kind of love. And so here we are about to embark on book 5 of the Deliver series. I can honestly say I'm surprised and appalled we are here. I thought that 5 was going to be Cole's story...But no. Pam, ever the sadist, is going to make us scratch and itch for it, make us plead and beg. Just before we throw in the towel she will dangle him in our faces. SIGH. It's severely twisted that we, the readers, at this point have been trained to thank her for it!

Thank you Pam for a dark world and the twisted love that feeds it.

I need to say that the cover of this book is both provocative and deceptively tame. The wildfire and strength in her eyes isn't noticed upon first glance but you are blind to miss it on the second.

Take is a special circle of hell. It's everything you didn't realize you wanted out of this book. When we finished Devestate, I foolishly looked for the end of Tiago. I didn't want that man to be the next star in the dark world Pam created. I had no idea I needed him to be next.

Take is a new level of dark. It's a new level of twisted. It is everything people tell you to avoid. But worst of all, it's impossible to resist!

Take me. Love me. And spit me out. I will line up for more. I'm already anxiously awaiting Martin, Ricky, and HER.

I think I finished Take almost half an hour ago and I’m glad that no one but my dogs were around to hear my unintelligible, incoherent rambling and moaning about Take because they would definitely think I was crazy and ask what was wrong or what I was going on about. Even now I don’t what to say and all I keep wanting to say is, “Wow!” because that’s exactly what this book was — it was utterly outstanding! I had such high hopes for this book and d*mn, did Pam Godwin just annihilate and completely surpass them. I’m so in awe and in love with Take, this series, and Tiago and Kate, most especially Tiago, I can’t even tell you.

I have been unbelievably excited for Take ever since the end of Devastate, I knew that Tiago was going to be the hero immediately and I was so here for it. I love a really dark hero and Pam Godwin never fails to deliver (pun so not intended) one to me and boy, did she do that with Tiago! Van has always been my favorite heroes of hers and my second favorite hero of all time, and oh my gosh, I didn’t think it was possible for anyone to unseat Van, but Tiago did — I just love that man so much! There’s no doubt that Tiago is dark and that he has done and does do bad things, but he’s not all bad. At his core, he really does have a good heart, I mean, he’ll never be the guy next door, but he’s good enough and he’s so wonderful with Kate. She means everything to him and he would do absolutely anything for her. I wholeheartedly fell in love with Tiago and I don’t think anyone could ever top him, but then again, I thought the same thing about Van and you all know now how that turned out, so I guess we’ll just have to see.

Not only did this book have a hero that became a new favorite of mine, but the heroine did as well. I could tell that Kate was going to be a force to be reckoned with and she proved me right! Kate is so fierce and strong and resilient. She’s a fighter through and through, she always challenges Tiago and doesn’t let him get away with anything. She doesn’t make excuses or dismiss the bad things he’s done and she always pushes him to be better and be the man with the good heart. Kate is fearless, brave, a total boss, and so amazing — she’s without a doubt my favorite Pam Godwin heroine across the board!

I thought Take would be the darkest book in the Deliver series, but I really don’t think it was. Don’t get me wrong, it was definitely dark and a bit twisted, but there was a lightness and sweetness to it too. I loved seeing the relationship form and grow between Tiago and Kate and how they felt and struggled — it was just deep and beautiful and full of so much meaning. Take was a stunning, breathtaking read, it’s one of the best books I’ve read so far and I know that it will absolutely be one of my favorites by the end of this year!

Wow. I honestly did not know what to expect with Thiago or how his story would play out. I mean we all know there is always a reason people are they way they are. It's not an excuse, but it explains their behavior. I never saw Thiagos path coming. I never saw him as a handsome man that could suck the breathe out of you with one of his rare smiles. Kate and her backbone of steel just knocked down all his defenses. Took the Devil by the horns and said you will never be the same again. You never saw me coming and I will take you some where you never knew you could go. It was real and gritty and dark and disturbing and all the wonderful things that make up a Pam Godwin book. Truly a five star masterpiece that sets a precipice for all future stories and I hope they all live up to it. They have so far! Kate and Thiago are who we should all aspire to be, the deep love that connects them and the respect and devotion is stunning to see unfold. Well done Miss Godwin! You did it again!

Pam Godwin has done it again, made me fall for a despicable and much hated character. I didn't like Tiago when he first stepped onto the page in Devastate and I didn't like him for quite a bit of Take either but then his layers were peeled off and I saw the human underneath and the way he was with the heroine, Kate and couldn't help but change my mind about him. I loved their story even as messed up as it was I still loved it and highly recommend it to dark romance lovers. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Still as good as the first time. Pam Godwin is just a master storyteller. She's simply the best at dark romance, especially in redeeming the unredeemable characters and making you love them. Genius.

Original Review - April 2019

Tiago intrigued me when he first appeared on Devastate and when he was talking to Tate, Lucia and Van while he was carving up Tate's back, I fell a little in love with him and thought about how I would love to read about his story. So when it was announced that he was gonna get his own book, I was more than excited to find out how Ms. Godwin would redeem him. I never, not even once, doubted her ability to redeem her anti-heros. She's excellent when it comes to world-building,  character development, and love stories. No matter how dark or depraved her characters are, you just can't help but root for them to have their own happy ending.

Take didn't disappoint. I loved it and I read it as slowly as I could but I was way too impatient to draw it out too long. It just reaffirmed my fascination with Tiago as a character and he has now become my favorite after Matias in the series.

I also loved Kate. She was tough, resilient, strong-willed. She's someone that Tiago needs. I want nothing more than happiness for them.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series, and knowing that it's gonna be an MMF just sweetened the deal!

Honestly I would read anything and everything that Pam Godwin would release at this point. I love her.

You must read the previous 4 books in the series for this book to make sense. The reader has met the two protagonists in this book in previous books, and one of them was a villain in a previous book! (Also, if you plan to read Pam Godwin's "Tangled Lies" series without spoilers, you need to read that series before you read this book).

I was incredibly intrigued about how I would like one particular character as I started to read this book. That character was a villain previously in another book in the series and did some incredibly horrible, irredeemable things to other characters.

I won't spoil the story for others, but seeing the two protagonists interact with each other was a really great time for me. I went into the book assuming I wouldn't like a character, and while I wouldn't really want to meet them on the street in real life, I found myself having empathy towards them and their past.

The MMC in this book was also one of the kinkiest characters I have ever read about - ever! I also feel like that's saying something. I read a lot of dark romance!

This book was amazing, and I enjoyed reading it from start to finish!

It was to disturbing for me.
I honestly don't know why i kept reading.

I won't read another one in this series.
But if you don't mind twisted romances you will probably like this one.
But check your triggers.
