Much like their previous book, Burnett and Evans focus on using design thinking to improve your life, focusing almost solely on your work life. The book gives ideas for improvement for whatever dissatisfaction you find in your working life—with worksheets to help you get going. I love worksheets. I’m excited to take their approach and apply it.

An excellent follow up to their first book, designing your life, you can read it as a sequel or a stand-alone. Most importantly, this book is for everyone who can’t up and quit their job, or, more importantly, don’t really want to. Some would like to find renewed interest and passion right where they are, and this book walk you though how. Again, with exercises and helpful anecdotes, it helps you kick-start your own creative juices.

Debunking the myth that you “should” be happy to be working, whatever your job, or that only low-wage workers are miserable at their jobs- Bill and Dave drive home the point that it’s not about “should” it’s about “why?”

Curiosity is the first step, and it opens a whole new world for you.

Excellent read for everyone, really, but will be of particular interest to designers, quality improvement people, or others familiar with technical vs adaptive challenges.

Diving deeper into the concepts of learning, curiosity, connection and creating experiments -- the authors really provide a very good pep talk / coaching session for how to find work that you really love and enjoy. The chapter on politics in the workplace is one of the best descriptions of power and reframes the concepts in a way that makes it useful and helpful. I recommend reading this book twice.

WAY better than [b:Designing Your Life: Build a Life that Works for You|26046333|Designing Your Life Build a Life that Works for You|Bill Burnett|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1476133952l/26046333._SY75_.jpg|45975778].
Bill finally hit his stride on this one.
Great tips on making work better, and some great timeless advice.

Would recommend for all workers!
