I loved so many things about this book but the Hero absolutely stole my heart. Wes was such an amazing man, SO devoted to Hannah. It takes a lot to make me cry from a book but this one did it. Also I LOVE the cover.

Always enjoy Melanie Harlow, but this one was a little too angsty for me (which makes sense given the subject), but there were almost zero light and humorous moments. Also, that mother-in-law redemption was a little too quick and tidy...

I waited too long to read this story, don’t make that mistake!

I didn’t read this book initially when I read the After We Fall Series. It wasn’t immediately clear what the connection to the series was, and the topic covered in the book made me very hesitant. A woman having feelings for her dead husband’s identical twin. Combine that with some reviews I now adamently disagree with, and I waited almost a year to finally finish the series. Only doing it as I have only a few reads to finish all of Melanie Harlow’s books. I SHOULD HAVE READ THIS SOONER!

The topic is tough, and the loss is addressed early. This makes this book a little heavier than some of her others. A lot of reviews said the heroine Hannah was whiny. I thought it was a fantastic portrayal of a grieving widow, a woman feeling lost in her life. I would have been disappointed if she wasn’t so torn, conflicted, and confused. She was real, and I loved her character. Wes’s love, wow. The second chance, the dedication, the growth of his character. It was everything. I think Wes needs a little more love as a swoony Harlow Hero, because I loved him.

The connection to the series is through Valentini Farms, and Hannah working there. You get to revisit Georgia, Pete, Margot and Jack from After We Fall, and I LOVED the connection. I really enjoyed this novel. If you like Melanie’s books, trust she will take care of you with this story.

DNF'd at 42%

So, this is more just a matter of preference, there's nothing inherently wrong with this book. I've read other books by Melanie Harlow in the past and have enjoyed them a lot.

I've never had an issue with the "I fell for my dead husband's brother" trope before, but in this case, because the brothers were actually twins, I had a harder time overlooking that fact not gonna lie.

I started the book over a week ago but haven't actually it in days and was more or less already considering DNF'ing it because of that. You know when you don't habe the urge to pick up a book that it's probably just not meant to be.

But, I thought I'd give it one last chance tonight, just in case. Cuz, you never know!

Unfortunately, I just read the scene in which Wes talks to his dead twin... and yea, nope. This is not a PNR book or whatnot. Your dead twin does not simply appear outta nowhere to give you his approval to sleep with his widowed wife.

Sad to say this, but next!

P.S.- I'm also in a slump, so there's that too.

But love comes without warning.

Another hit for Melanie Harlow! She writes stories that will have you grasping your heart in twisted situations that has her characters out of their control. Falling in love comes when you least expect it and the story of Wes & Hannah is a perfect example. The angst, the feels did not fall short on this one.

"Don't make promises," I whispered. "Life makes them impossible to keep."

A story entailing twins Drew and Wes, unexpected widow, Hannah and her sweet daughter, will spill some emotions from all angles. It is a situation that will have you torn on how true these feelings are and how much it will affect not just on a down low but rather when the truth comes out. Alive or not the lost of a love one will always be a part of their lives.

FROM THIS MOMENT captured my heart from the very first chapter. Hannah and Wes’ story repeatedly broke my heart, had me in tears, and had me grasping on to hope. Hope that they would find their way out of the dark and sadness that consumed their lives.

I knew it wasn’t me she was seeing. No matter how much I wished it was.

It’s words like these that turn me into a blubbering mess. Wes is probably one of the most recent leading men in a book to tug on my heartstrings like he did. His generous, caring nature, and secrets he kept tugged on them to the verge of nearly snapping.

“Christ, Hannah.” His voice broke. “You’re killing me.”
And you’re bringing me back to life.

The thing that struck me the most was experiencing Hannah’s pain. She’s broken—just going through the motions of the day, while loving and caring for her daughter, Abby. I couldn’t fault her for her state of mind. She’d been dealt one of the most heart shattering events one could go through.

I knew the moment I saw you that you were the one. The one I’d always love. The one I’d always dream about. The one I’d always wish was mine.

From This Moment was beautiful, poignant—simply captivating. Hannah and Wes’ story wasn’t an ordinary one. It was tragic and a little forbidden. But also, a story about finding peace. Finding the light in life again. Getting a second chance at an all-consuming love.

This is surprising. I like this book. The story is more than second chance romance. It has so many moral messages about dating dead husband's twin brother. The connection between Wes and Hannah is instant and short.

The plot and twist is more focusing on the nature of their relationship. Whatever it is right or wrong. We always believe love will conquer, but at what expense? Can people around you accept your relationship? I see many prespective of Wes and Hannah relationship from people around them.
The ultimate message is: love conquered all.

Miss Harlow writes it beautifully in From This Moment. Sweet and vulnerable.
