Pretty average and fairly predictable. Listen to the audiobook version of this and was not impressed with the narrator. So I'm sure that left a sour taste in my mouth about the experience.

This book took me a while to read, mostly because of work craziness and not because of level of challenge, but what I appreciate about Brad Thor's books is that they aren't very difficult to put down and pick up later. Part of what I'm enjoying about reading these thrillers is that they aren't like Dickens, meaning they aren't written in such a way that every word is important and, therefore, stopping the reading process is also stopping the flow of understanding.
I really like that all of these books are connected. The continuity of the story lines makes it so that it's also easy to pick up what's happening from book to book. I can see that after a while, these Scot Harvath stories might also blend a little bit and each book could become a templated sort of novel, but we'll see. I'm still enjoying the characters and world that Thor has created.

Another quality Brad Thor novel. As usual, Scot Harvath is a beast. And now I'm gonna be paranoid about russian sleeper cells and suitcase nukes in America...

I’m not actually clear on what happened at the end, but it could be that I was distracted. I just know that the good guys won. Time to keep cranking through these, I guess.

Lacked finesse. The characters were static and the plot couldn't flow well because it was being constantly interrupted by the details of the gear.

I think this was the first book the series really felt real to me and I get the main character a little better. Before it seemed like he could do no wrong or really be hurt but this book shows he’s more human and his sarcasm is dialed back so you’re not rolling your eyes when you read it.

What a fascinating storyline! Makes you really wonder if it could happen.
