4.5 stars!!!

Obsessed! Thank you Lynn Painter for getting me out of my reading slump, my queen

Bailey (funny) and Charlie are perfect, so funny, so lovable, such teenagers! Wow! They really don’t have a clue!! It’s adorable

Adorable is kinda the only word I can use, maybe giggly with a touch of sarcasm

Whew, this one too me a while. And that has nothing to do with the quality of the book. First I was sick with pneumonia and then I got so busy at work I just didn’t have time to read. Luckily it’s an extra long weekend so I’ve got time to catch up.

I’m always a fan of Lynn Painter’s writing. I tend to enjoy her adult novels more than her YA ones but I enjoy them all as a whole. This was a cute one! Not my favourite from her but definitely an enjoyable time.

I liked Bailey and Charlie a lot. Bailey is also the name of my cute pup so I might be a little biased. I’ve also always loved the name Charlie for a boy or a girl (short for Charlotte). Liked the witty banter and the meet cute in the beginning. The betting stuff seemed slightly irrelevant and just an excuse for a miscommunication and “break up” later on when all is revealed, which of course we knew would happen. But the couple had chemistry and had the whole friends to more thing going which I always enjoy.

A bit long and could’ve ended soon after the weekend away part but I did enjoy when Charlie cancelled his party the minute Bailey needed him and that was after the ski weekend so I’ll let it go.

Very cute! Fun read.

Omg. This book was so freaking cute. Even though I usually don't go for YA books, this one was so good and a little silly.

It was a YA remake of one of my favorite movies ever- When Harry Met Sally.

I didn't like that not everything was wrapped up. Like why didn't the book explain the deal with Baileys dad? And her never getting closure with Zack? I was invested and would have liked answers.

Otherwise, it's pretty good, if not a little cheesy.

I was really excited to read this because I’ve loved most of Lynn Painter’s books so far, but this one was just okay. I had just finished reading Accidentally Amy, which has the most delightful and witty banter between the main characters. I think this book was just not nearly as funny or witty by comparison, and it dragged a bit too much for my taste. I also agree with another reviewer that there were too many TS references for my taste (also coming from a Swiftie).

I gave The Do-Over and Better Than The Movies both five stars, but this was a solid 3, maybe 2.5.

this one was cute but I didn't enjoy it as much as Better Than the Movies. I think that's mostly because the characters in this felt more childish and got on my nerves more which, this being a YA, isn't a surprise necessarily but they were pissing ME OFFFF. there was several little instances of miscommunication which I hated and of course the giant 3rd act blow up but overall the two leads were cute together and I liked their banter and dynamic. I just hate some of the ya romance tropes...

just a cutie lil high school rom com! so presh and fun and cute!

a fact about me: i get overwhelmingly and embarrassingly anxious when i am consuming a piece of media and i am aware that a character is lying about or hiding something that is going to have an effect on the overall storyline. i cannot stop thinking of what might happen when said character gets caught in their lie and it effects the way i consume media!

that being said: that did happen in the book, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been (meaning that my anxiety wasn’t as bad!)!

the communication wasn’t amazing, but would definitely cut them some slack given that they are literally in high school

overall this was a fun book, a quick and easy read, and i don’t really have any complaints! i would rate it higher, but after january, i am once again trying to figure out how to rate things bc in lieu of handing out no fives i pretty much just rated everything a 4. and i don’t really think that is a bad thing (i am very easily entertained and not afraid to admit that), but i am really trying to get a grip on how to rate things! so may change this rating at some point (probably gonna reevaluate at the end of feb

Probably more like a 1.5.

The summary of, literally, the entire book, is in the blurb.

Charlie is annoying.

Not even a Swiftie FMC could save this.
