Well, it was okay?
Somewhere in the middle I got a bit bored, tho. The structure of sentences doesn't help. Felt like gas-break-gas-break. He did that, then he did that and then that happened.
But yeah, it was fun and the beggining really dragged me in - Mark is awesome angry bunny.

First sentence: Rush week. Deacon hated it.
Favorite quote: "There was no trace of angry bunny at all. Just tired bunny. Sweet bunny. Maybe lost bunny, who had looked up at the stars only to discover that they were wrong, that he didn’t recognize them anymore."

Loved it!
Deacon's and Mark's relationship felt so real. They didn't rush in to anything, and when they did fall in love, I actually believed in it. I laughed out loud, I wanted to sob and my heart swelled with every second scene.
I loved how freely (mostly) they explored their kinks, how they found out what they liked together and were willing to try anything for the other.
I'd love to read a second book about them (not gonna happen, huh?), but I do feel like we got enough of anything from their story.
Totally recommend it.

This story is really good. I was really entertained. I love all the kinky part of it and love the storyline even if I got mad many times. I would recommend it.

I really enjoyed this little number, and will totally be checking out other books by these authors. Mark was forced to move to America when his mother gets remarried, and his stepfather wants him to pledge his old fraternity. Mark is pretty clueless, and also pretty angry about his situation. He vows to make the frat cut him, he won't give anyone the satisfaction of making him quit.

Deacon is a member of the frat next door, and doesn't even know Mark is pledging his frat's rival when they meet, but that doesn't stop them from hooking up, and a really sweet, HOT kind of relationship grows between these two guys.

I loved watching how Mark grew through this book, realizing that maybe the whole frat brother thing wasn't as bad as he thought, and all his claims of being a crap boyfriend aside, he was pretty good with Deke, too. Mark was very off the wall, you never knew what he was going to say or do, and I think Deacon really needed that. Deacon has his own issues, with his OCD mother, mostly absentee father, and brother in the middle east. He needed someone like Mark to help him to just let go a little bit, and have fun. He also needs to be needed, and Mark definitely needed Deacon to ground him a little but, and to take care of him.

And can we talk about the sex? Because I don't normally like the things that happened in this book, but oh man, did I like it here. I loved how neither guy had ever thought about having any of the kinks they started to explore together, and I loved how they learned together, and how they TALKED about things. Who knew a kink for women's clothes would come out of the pledge's being forced to dress in french maid outfits? Certainly not Deacon, and Mark NEVER expected to like it! Or the spanking, but they found that could be fun too, and so did I.

So the blurb pretty much says it all...

This was all about finding yourself and getting your priorities straight. If it happens to involve exploring your sexuality, then all the better.

As Mark and Deacon delve more into expressing their sexual needs and showing their vulnerable side, they come to realize that perhaps relying on someone is not such a bad thing - that sharing their insecurities and personal issues with someone else is really quite fantastic.

I had a little worry before I read this
Spoilerbecause I knew in advance that there was fisting and that was a bit off putting
. I didn't know if my staid self would be able to handle it but thankfully, it was portrayed tastefully and with what I would assume as a realistic progression of how one goes about that sort of thing???? *gulps* Oy.

Other than that I overall liked how Mark and Deacon find in the other what they needed - a level of trust and intimacy that they didn't know was missing. I was entertained and humored and touched as this was peppered with lovely sweetness, sexiness, and don't forget - some eyebrow raising kink.

I liked the BDSM elements in this book. Everyone has to start somewhere and Deacon and Mark started together. This story had some great secondary characters.

The hazing thing pissed me off. I kept getting really frustrated that no one was doing anything about it. So I'm glad that Mark finally admitted to some of it at the end.

Whyyy did I wait so long to read this?

I mean, I already knew I loved these authors. I even owned both books in this series. I just sort of... forgot about them? I have Shiny New Thing syndrome sometimes, okay?

But OH what a freaking DELIGHT this was! Mark is such a complex character (Deacon fondly thinks of him as an angry bunny, which I love). He’s at times cocky and prickly and unsure and funny. As much as I loved his ready wit he used to deflect *feelings*, I think I most loved when he trusted Deacon enough to open up and be vulnerable.

There is a fair amount of kink the characters explore together, and some of it doesn’t instantly go as expected. That felt honestly so realistic to me and I loved how it was handled (if at first you don’t succeed and all that).

And the frat hazing, while unpleasant, also had a satisfactory conclusion. I was a little worried about a side character and was delighted that he features in the second book, which I am charging right into next.

Don’t wait as long as I did. Give yourself the pleasure of this fabulous book!
