Difficult subjects with spots of hope throughout. I liked how it was written and got hooked on the main character and her life. (But, I cannot confirm if the story is realistic as I don’t have personal experience with every one of the topics.) Trigger warnings.

3.5⭐ The switch between past and present was a good pacing vehicle. The main character's mental illness is thoroughly explored, without being self indulgent or things being resolved too neatly. Claire Alexander has a straightforward writing style, and I wasn't surprised that her oeuvre includes both children's stories and non-fiction sociology texts. Will definitely read more from her.

gripping, very good descriptions of depression. very intense as well, i felt the need to walk away at times. i especially like that the story is truly about meredith accepting herself and working through everything in her own way. very refreshing

I didn’t expect this to be a 5 star book, but it is and I loved it.

I really liked this book. The characters, the story. It was both cozy and not; low and the highest stakes at the same time. A good listen
