Childhood friends to enemies to lovers.
Kinda hard to get past how Ryan publicly humiliates Becca.
The angst was good but I was hoping for a more complex and deeper story.
Should’ve been more grovelling before she forgave him.
Charlie was a shtty boyfriend and was frustrating how Becca was always running back to him.
Overall a cute and kinda angsty teen romance.

I've reread this book three times and each time I found something new I loved about it. It's well written though at times a few events felt rushed it still developed into more content for future things ;) definitely a must read and highly recommended.

bREHhhhh im usually super easy on characters but yooo becca!! i just had one thought throughout the whole book,, freaking ryan deserves better :/ i have never disliked a main character as much as becca like tf she was so fucking annoying, irrationally stubborn and her inability to give him more than 10seconds to speak without making it all abt his "evil" plan and shit for her??? jeeezuz and how tf is she so close minded and think that every single person is shit without even knowing them, like ryan's friends weren't even bad?? i cant imagine how ryan could even stand her!! and tfffff the ending was kinda shit,, like she suddenly realizes she loves him??? out of nowhere?? umm lolll she just ruined the whole book for me

and poor ryan, he's so precious and his feelings for her was so sweet,, and lmao his friends playing cupid and trying to help him was kinda cute too lmaoo

idk how i got through the whole book tbh, it was just so ridiculous lorde

I was enjoying this book at first. After I got used to the writing style, I was able to settle down and really get into it. I loved how Becca shot down Ryan at every turn. Literally everyone in the book knew Ryan was in love with Becca-- well, everyone except Becca. And it was hilarious how oblivious and rude she was toward him. So the book wasn't too bad and I was enjoying it.

And then.

So Becca hates Ryan throughout the whole book. Then almost at the end of the book, Ryan tells Becca he's in love with her. And despite HATING him throughout the whole book, despite being OBSESSED with her former boyfriend Charlie, she immediately smiles and goes "omg I love him too."

What the hell?! It literally came out of nowhere. There was nothing that even hinted at Becca having feelings for him, let alone being in LOVE with him. That's absolutely crazy. She considered him a friend a couple times before he did something to ruin it, and she noticed he was hot a couple timew, but that's superficial. There were zero real feelings there. She's gonna spend YEARS hating him, then after a two minute talk, she decides she loves him? That completely ruined the book for me. It was like the author wanted it to be done with and just threw them together at the end. I don't even like them together. I actually find it hilarious how Becca hated him while he pined over her.

But no. Those last two chapters just had to ruin the entire book. Ugh.

I actually liked the premise of the book, a YA enemies-to-lovers which is a new for me. But i think the only thing the threw me off was this feel too YA and I've kind of outgrown it. Because some things that happened in the book felt so trivial for me and childish, but I also understand that the setting of the book was in highschool, so maybe that's why.

The story have been so much more.

However, we have a main character, who is so self-absorbed in her world she fails to notice, well, anything. In some ways, I liked Becca's straight up attitude but she was unnecessarily rude to many people. I get that she doesn't like crowds or being centre of attention but still. She just didn't listen to anyone.

Ryan. Bless Ryan's soul. He deserved so much more.

Spoiler I think the story was wrapped too nicely. Ryan gave his big speech and all of a sudden Becca realises she loves him. It should have been so much more. There wasn't even a scene where Becca truly dwelled on her treatment of Ryan throughout the years. She just all of a sudden loved him.
