My friends are cool. I spend the night at their house and they introduce me to top-tier picture books. Like this one. It's beautiful. Will be looking for this author when I scrounge about seeking to satisfy the obsessive desire to buy more books.

Two peas in a pod exclude their new neighbor until she chases away some bullies. They invite her over and realize she has a new way of looking at things and some great ideas to share. They have some things in common, too. Very cute, creative story.

When Lilly first moves in to the neighborhood: "When Lilly asked Chester and Wilson to play, they fair they were busy. When she called them up on the phone, they disguised their voices and said they weren't home. If Lilly was on one side of the street, Chester and Wilson crossed to the other and hid." We never hear an apology about this, they just start including her and liking her after she chases away some bullies who "yelled personal remarks."

The book reminded me of young friendships, and felt that it encouraged young ones to broaden the scope of such friendships. A sweet story.

This picture book has detailed, charming illustrations and shows how two friends who like to do things in the same way react and then adapt to their new neighbor's contrasting eccentricities. It's a cute story with subtle humor, and I like how it models life lessons without being preachy about them.

This has always been one of my favourite children's books. As a child, I love it mostly for the very cute pictures. As an adult, I still appreciate the story for talking about trying new things and how different people might have new ways of doing the same things you do. It's a great message, and a fun book to read.

Very nice book with great illustrations. If my son were very set in his ways, it would be helpful to increase flexibility and tolerance.

As I read Chester's Way, I was reminded of Jim Roth's posit that we are each the average of the five people we spend the most time with. Chester has his way of doing things--an OCD-type of way. Chester's best friend, Wilson, is almost exactly the same in his temperament and his interests. But what happens when a new kid with her own way of living life moves into the neighborhood and--gasp!--tries to make friends with Chester and Wilson? Well, a little give and a little take.
