In Dare to Kiss, the first book in the Maxwell Series, by S.B. Alexander, all Lacey Robinson wants to do is play baseball. In order to do that, she needs to make the boys’ baseball team at her new high school. Not only is she dealing with a guy who doesn’t want any girls on his team, but she’s also been suffering from PTSD after finding her mother and sister murdered. On top of all that, Kade Maxwell is making her life a bit more complicated. She never intended to fall for him, but he soon captures her attention and makes her feel something she has never felt before. Will she be able to open up to him about her past? And will she let these obstacles get in the way of her dreams?

What an amazing book! What I loved the most was the main character, Lacey. She is such a tough girl and definitely knows how to take care of herself. One thing that I think gets overdone in books is a man rescuing a damsel in distress. Yes, Lacey has her issues and Kade feels the need to protect her, but at the end of the day, she is her own person with her own goals and aspirations, with or without Kade, which I absolutely love. Then, of course, there’s the romance. And I have to say, S.B. Alexander wrote this perfectly in my opinion. The pace, the blossoming romance, the conflicts, just everything about their relationship from beginning to end was written not only in a realistic way but also in a way that left me wanting more. This was one of those books that I could not put down, and I was so devastatingly disappointed to see it end. However, I was so happy to hear that the next book will be about Lacey and Kade. Not to sound like a fangirl, but I definitely need more Lacey and Kade. Dare to Kiss is a must read and must own for any fans of the new adult genre. If you’re like me, you will admire Lacey and fall in love with Kade. I will be counting down the days until the next book is released.

Obviously being a huge baseball fan myself, I was really excited to read this one! As soon as I read the blurb I knew it had to be mine and I was not disappointed!! Whether you are into sports or not I think that this is still a read for you.
Lacey is a bad ass down to earth lovable girl that suffers from things most of us do! She is a very relatable character and I loved that about her! Kade. Well. He's your typical bad boy that is always attractive right?
This was my first experience with this author and I really enjoyed myself. A slight cliff hanger but it's enough to leave you wanting more!

I was really excited to start reading this book. I love stories that involve strong females that dive head first into a man world, in this case baseball. Lacey has moved to a new town for her senior year at pursue her dream of playing baseball at ASU, and to also move on from a tragedy that shook her life only 9months before. When Lacey meets Kade the sparks begin to fly. It doesn't matter how much physical pain she inflicts on Kade, he keeps coming back. Lacey soon begins to find out that she's not the first female to try out for the baseball team, the last girl however ended up dead.

S.B. Alexander did a great job building up suspense over the course of this book, with regards to what would happen to Lacey if she did make the team. With that said...I was disappointed that the suspense didn't build up to much. I felt that this book in the end just geared me up for the second book in the Maxwell series. While the suspense of finding out what will happen next will force me to read the second book (let's face it I was going to anyways), it made the book just fall flat. I was so excited that with all the suspense, that I thought the book would end in a big BANG...instead it seemed to drift off to sleep. The writing style of this book however was great which did make up for the flat ending.

I look forward to continuing on with the Maxwell series; I can't wait to find out what Greg and Aaron are really up to. I feel like there might be a good bit of drama that will be unfolding.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion*

I really enjoyed this book I really enjoyed the romance between Kade and Lacey this book is full of drama, lust and I loved the character development throughout this book. I loved how determined l, courageous, smart and short tempered Lacey was as a character. And I liked how protective Kade was first of his family and now how protective he was of Lacey. I also liked how Lacey helps him heal because of the Demons that he has.

Dare to Kiss starts off with Lacey starting a new school in a new town to help get away from the memories of her past. She's going to work hard to get on the baseball team so she can get a scholarship to college. This is a lot harder than she thought with her PTSD coming into effect, and with Kade coming into the picture as well.

But, when Kade and Lacey come together things get better and worse for both of them. They each believe that they've found something worth fighting for, even if Lacey needs a little more convincing, however, there are others out there who wish to see Lacey fail and wills top at nothing to have that happen.

This book has a pretty cool story line, and kept my interest for the most part. I just wish there had been a little bit more to the plot line, at times it felt a little boring.

BUT, the best part about the whole book, and what made me really like it was the awesome alpha hero and a great heroine! These two made the book worth reading, and made it so much better. I'm not sure if I will read more in this series, but this was worth the read just because of the characters.

I just really didn’t care for the characters, especially the way the main male character was acting.

I like this book once I got into it but I put it down three times before I managed to finish it. It was good but super draggy. I think it could be a great book but it needs quite a bit of editing to get there unfortunately. Great characters but if the story could be streamlined the book as a whole would be immensely improved.
