I lied when I said women don’t like grumpy men like Luke. Mr. Darcy, the most brooding man of them all, is beloved by women around the world. ~ Tessa
Another winner here! Kortney keeps me smiling and laughing and loving the Johnson family!
This time it’s Tessa’s chance at romance. But Luke ain’t having it! Tessa tries to convince herself she isn’t attracted to Luke and his grumpy attitude. That doesn’t stop her from doing her best to get under his skin. The tension between these two is so good!
Things to love:
Grumpy/Sunshine
Enemies to more
Workplace romance
Forced proximity
Banter and teasing and tension

... I'm 60% into this book and I just can't take it anymore.
Tessa is extremely unlikable. She's super immature and vain (though she does admit it) and she lovesssss male attention (almost in any form). She even mentions that she uses her flirting smile at work to get men to agree with her. Like WTF. She claims that she's a career woman, and this is how she's trying to get ahead in her career??
Also, why didn't she ask so many more questions to her boss when she was asked to delay the opening of a hotel?? For example, what exactly was her boss going to do in order to get an extra SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS in two months because she went over budget?? And now she's expecting Tessa to go and fix her mistake, and Tessa just goes along with it, hosting brunch and yoga and the job site.
The thought process going through Tessas head the entire book just made me cringe.

It was cute but didn’t blow me away. I found Tessa really annoying in the beginning but she got better. These are closed door, so if you’re looking for smut you won’t find it here. Still a cute little rom com in the series

Let’s just start this review by saying that Complex is definitely a contender for one of my top reads for the year! I loved the previous book, Compared, and the novella, Commit—and Complex did not disappoint! I don’t think I’ve read many books where the girl is the one who lies, and the whole storyline played out so well. It felt like a realistic situation and I loved both Tessa and Luke!
There is just so much to love:
-Witty banter
-Forced proximity
-Opposites attract
-Marvel references
-Tessa’s distracted thoughts
-BFF bracelets
-Jimmy Choo shoe & concrete incident
-Family group texts
-Shower incident
-Luke’s relationship with his mom & sisters
-The entire fishing situation
-Fake Zoom call
-G.I. Joe Poldark

This book!!!! Tessa and Luke were such a swoon worthy couple. And the grumpiness? Let's just say I ate it up like candy. Seriously, though, I'm usually not a fan of a third act climax, but this one was done perfectly. I even shed a couple tears! I have loved both the books in this series... can't wait to start the third!
