I took a while to get around to writing a review to this book but here I am now!
When I read [b:Oh. My. Gods.|2342943|Oh. My. Gods. (Oh. My. Gods, #1)|Tera Lynn Childs|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1207441245s/2342943.jpg|2349651] I was happy but not jumping up and down with joy. I thoroughly enjoyed that book too but this 1 was far better. Surprising, since this is the sequel.
Phoebe is without a doubt one of my favourite heroines ever. She made up for missing out on a great sale[since I gave up shopping for her]. This book had an added suspense angle because she has a blackmailer. And believe it or not, this Sherlock and Agatha Christie fanatic did not guess who it was. When she finally confronts the person and finds out who it is:

I liked Griffin in this book better too. He was so much more real and the whole relationship made a lot more sense. There were parts in the 1st books with him where I was like : You trying to kill me or something???!!!
This book:

There are even Pythian Games which are sort of the demigod equivalent of Olympic Games. Quick question though: How exactly were there other participants at the tryouts when other demigod schools haven't been mentioned? This was the only flaw in the logic I found. Which is really good because usually I tear books apart if stuff doesn't match up.

Also Pheobe being an extremely powerful demigod has to prove to the gods that she's capable of handling them since her control is... So STELLA[Yes that Stella], her not so nice step sister helps her. Like REALLY helps her. And the test by the gods can come any time which is why Phoebe attend Goddess Boot Camp with 10-12 year olds.[Embarassing much?]

And the minor characters are so amazing!!! They all have actual characteristics!!! Not just cardboard cutouts which have no real function and leave me thinking:

And the end of the tryouts[which are the main plotline of the book] and a very interesting thing occured and I was all upset only to become
when it was explained and BTW, did you'll see what I did there???

But you know what? At the end I was still

You wanna know why? Huh? Huh??? Because our trusty friend Goodreads informed me that there only 2 books in this series...
Please Ms. Childs, please please please write another book. You can even tell us what Nicole's heritage is!!! I formally request and so does Dean Winchester.

Phoebe found out that she really is a demi-goddess and has awesome supernatural powers. The only thing is, she is having trouble controlling these powers. Phoebe needs to figure it out fast because the gods have decided to test her (this has only been done one other time!). On top of the pressure she has to control her powers, she is training for the Pythian Games, and Griffin is totally acting weird and hanging out with Dara (yuck).

This book was not as good as the first one. The story wasn't very fast paced, the characters weren't as compelling, and it totally felt corny. This series is an easy comfy beach read, not the sophisticated high-brow classic.

Goddess bootcamp definitely wasn't as good as the first book in this series, Oh. My. Gods. However, I did enjoy learning more about Phoebe, Stella, Griffin, and even Adara.

My favorite part in this book was definitely the scenes with Phoebe and Stella. We see how both of them actually care for one another. And we find out how Stella has her own crush she's pining for!

Daemon and Phoebe's mom were there, always supportive of Phoebe's uncontrollable powers.

I found the whole theme, controlling your powers, quite unoriginal. I mean, how many authors use that plot line? Like 500 million! (Okay, maybe I am exaggerating, just a little) anyway, I found the whole newfound power thing quite boring. The author hardly even put her own twist on it!

Griffin is as amazing as ever. But, of course, I liked the romantic tension in the first book better...

All in all, I enjoyed learning more about some wonderful characters, but I won't be reading this again!

2.5 stars- I liked it, in the way a person likes a remote control, we always worship the tv more!

Goddess Boot camp follows Phoebe Castros as she starts her first summer as a descendant of the Goddess Nike. Four main things are on her mind. The upcoming trials for the Pythian Games I enjoyed this book, learning to control her new found powers, whether her boyfriend is cheating or not, and who keeps on sending her cryptic messages about her Dad's trail. It looks like an exciting summer is ahead of her.

I enjoyed this book. There were some aspects about it that bothered me, but it was an enjoyable read and entertaining. The contents are very light and the only life or death situations are the ones that Phoebe dreams up for herself.

The book added a little more depth to the  story over all and allowed for more character development. It has a decent ending cause you stop reading here and not need a sequel but it keeps interested enough that the short stories will be nice to read cause they don't feel force or unnecessary.

Another fun beach read. Dialogue bugged me, though.

In this sequel, the romance takes a backseat as Phoebe juggles controlling her powers and finding the truth about her father's death. To be honest, take away the fact that the characters in Goddess Boot Camp are all demigods and what you get is a typical high school novel. Troubled heroine, her boyfriend and the b****y girls out to get her.

The novel is simple enough to read, almost a chick-lit read really. Plot points were all very straightforward with the only mystery being who was the one who knew the truth behind Phoebe's father's death. The book ends with several loose ends untied which indicates a sequel is probably needed but whether Childs will actually write a new one for the series remains to be seen, as the author's profile doesn't indicate any new releases for the series at the moment.

DO NOT READ THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE READ OH. MY. GODS.!!!!!

Phoebe made the team and got the man of her dreams, but things are far from perfect. Since Nike's her great-grandmother, her powers are very strong and a little (okay, a lot) out of control. The gods aren't happy about this and decide to test her. The problem is that she doesn't know when or where this test will be. Damien enrolls her in Goddess Boot Camp where she's stuck with Stella, Adara, and a herd of 10-year-olds all day. Along with that, she is training for the Pythian Games. And is it just her imagination or is Griffin spending a lot of time with his ex? With all this stress, what's a goddess to do?

This book is just as good as the first. I love the character and relationship development in Phoebe and Stella. The characters seem like real people, with worries and emotions. They all have secrets, but they're believable, not over-the-top like in other teen fiction. This book tied up several ends, but left some undone still so the series can continue. I can't wait!
