This book wasn't for me. Liked the begging. Liked the ending. Hated the rest.
I have never been a huge fan of magic realism, but I love Carrie and I wanted to give it a chance, unfortunately, I was right. Though, I do think Carrie is a great writer and I am looking forward to read more from her in the future.

I love Carrie, but this book, like "All I Know Now", seems to be written for her youngest audience. It's a sweet story, but I couldn't wrap my head around the realism and the "magic" living side by side (taking out a heart...?). The setting was also quite confusing; it sometimes seemed set in the 1920s and suddenly you're in present day. Overall, satisfying read, but I'm eager to read something more mature from Carrie. I'm sure she can do more than a fairytale, even if it is her specialty.

It was fine. It was an interesting idea on what happens after life. Honestly, it felt a bit rushed. The story was clearly intended to be about the after life and releasing secrets from your life to pass on BUT the reasons for the main character keeping the secrets in the first place just seemed a bit thin? And the reasons for making decisions just felt rushed? As if the story had to end up at one place so the decision was made even though in reality they would’ve been much more fight and torment over those choices.

Love it. Absolutely wonderful and perfectly magical. It is both heart warming and heart breaking - with a large dose of magic. I don't want to give anything away because going in blind is the best way to read this book. So good - just read it .... now, read it now.

There are some books to entertain us, other to expand our imagination, and 3rd to give us a life lesson. This book combines all of them.

This book thought me that i shouldn't think about the pain in the past, but to feel every second of happiness that i experience, because they may not be forever.

To forgive, to think about the others first, to make art, to love.

To fall in love with living your life. To enjoy everything that God puts in through your way. I cried a lot. I smiled a lot, all bc of this book.

Live your life every day, every second. Because it ends so fast... And when mine face that, all i want to remember is the good.
So think ab the positive things, the happiness and enjoy life fully!

*I didn't like the LGBTQ parts *

It was a simple, but nice story.
Had a few, minor plot-holes, wasn't complex, but it was cute in its simpleness.
