I thought this book was really cute, the female main character was relatable but not in a cheesy over the top kind of way. I love when authors really make you feel a characters personality like they are a friend.

I did think this was a 3.5 rounded up, and wasn’t quite as amazing as book 1, but living in colorado it really felt so accurately written by Hannah. Just waiting on the melenzana reference

Just like Hannah Bird's first book, this story was powerful, emotional and empowering. I loved the way Zoey was portrayed and the strength she showed when finally opening up to her friends about past abuse. Aaron is such a sweetheart. I loved how he supported Zoey but also let her make all of her own decisions.

I highly recommend for those looking for an emotional romance set in a small town, strong female friendships, and healing for the past.

I wanted to like this one more than I did. It wasn't all bad but I found myself setting it aside in favor of other books.

I felt like Zoey was talking to everyone except the person she needed to, Aaron. One of those things where a conversation just helped correct the disconnect and it was avoided the entire time. Just. Talk.

Much like book one, this feels more centered on trauma recovery and when trying to blend romance the split focus became a problem. It almost feels like romance was used as a solution to trauma in a way. Which didn't work for me. I would have liked to see either plot line more focused on. I didn't feel like adding Kit to this made sense. At all.

It was an okay read but I wasn't blown away.

Hannah Bird is one of my favorite authors (and she’s only released 2 books!) I have never been so thoroughly wrecked by a book like I have with Hannah’s debut novel, The End and Then, and it’s sequel, What’s Left of Me!

I was so excited to travel back to Loveless, CO and dive into Zoey and Aaron’s story!

I love Zoey’s character so much. I found myself getting frustrated with her so many times early on in the book, but for anyone who has dealt with trauma like her’s, you know that everything Zoey does, thinks, and feels is so realistic for someone who has been through that kind of trauma. Her character is portrayed so perfectly. You can’t help but feel everything that Zo is feeling. Just like with The End and Then, I had to stop reading to catch my breath between sobs.

AARON FREAKIN’ MOORE!! Aaron is absolutely A M A Z I N G!! He is so kind and patient and just so so good. (Pretty much all the fruits of the Spirit.

This is such a great series! I think I enjoyed the first in the series, The End and Then, a little bit more, but I did really enjoy how What’s Left of Me added to the Loveless, CO story!

This book picks up where we left off in The End and Then, but we get Zoey’s perspective and love story this time around. She’s kept all her relationships at arm’s length because of serious trauma from her younger life, but she’s finding it hard to keep to the same boundaries in her new relationship with Aaron. Every time she builds them up, he tears them right down.

I love how emotionally driven these books are! It helps me stay invested in the story and the romance. In both of these books, I enjoyed the mental health representation and also loved how the main characters’ earlier experiences were revealed throughout the book in pieces until the whole picture is revealed. That format definitely kept me turning the pages! I loved all the characters and the small town vibes. I also enjoyed the little mystery subplot. Overall, such a great story!

Read What’s Left of Me (and the whole Loveless series!) if you enjoy :
▫️Emotional stories
▫️Small-town romance
▫️Mental health rep
▫️Strong friendships

Synopsis: In this follow-up to The End and Then, we have the pleasure of following Zoey on her journey of healing and self-discovery as she grapples with past trauma and learns that she is deserving of love.

Thoughts: If you like a strong and confident female main character, you will love Zoey! Zoey’s character is strong, loyal and honest, but she’s got a lot of depth as well. Hannah does an amazing job of writing Zoey’s emotions in a way that feels realistic for someone recovering from trauma. It’s easy to root for her on her journey to recovering from past events and finding true happiness. This story will have you feeling for Zoey and rooting for her and Aaron, who is a fabulous book boyfriend. And I can’t leave out the cast of friends and family who make this small-town setting really come to life. I also enjoyed that there was a bit of mystery/suspense added into the story. Definitely add this one to your TBR!

Hannah did it again! She wrote yet another beautiful story about the power of healing and of unconditional love of self and others.

We travel back to Loveless where this time the story focuses on Zoey and Aaron.

Zoey no longer believes in love and commitment, after all, the last time she did, it nearly killed her. She’s learned to keep everyone at an arm’s length in order to protect herself and her heart. But, can she go on living her life this way?!

Aaron is absolute perfection! He knows Zoey is holding back, but he doesn’t know why. Regardless of the reasons, he shows Zoey what love is supposed to look like AND feel like through his patience and his steadfast actions.

“Zoey, we can do this on your terms. At your pace. But you can’t talk about yourself like that, like us being more is something you don’t deserve, or I’m going to have to prove you wrong.”

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good small town romance with depth, heart, and healing!

I knew my friend Hannah was a talent. This story just solidified that for me. Not to mention there was a little mystery twist to this book that was riveting.

Returning to my fave little mountain town, Loveless, but this time for Zoey and Aaron’s story absolutely turned me to mush. This whole cast of characters just has my heart. I’m so happy Zoey got her chance.

WLOM is written with the same cadence as the first book, The End And Then. The writing flows seamlessly and from one page to the next without effort. But I found this story to be so tender. And so subtle in these nuances that really built onto characters we already love. You cannot help but hurt along with Zoey and Aaron but absolutely be their biggest cheerleaders.

As with the first book, I laughed, I cried and I couldn’t put it down. While I’m sad it’s over, I think that the ending couldn’t have been more perfect for every single character in these stories and I’m forever thankful to Hannah for sharing them with us all!
