This was an unexpected enjoyable read! When this was first chosen for book club, I didn’t think this would have much depth and I was wanting something that I could clasp onto I think - but I was pleasantly surprised! This is a black comedy with really serious undertones of what women experience and at times it was brutal to read in more ways than one.

As always, I saw ‘twist’ in some of the reviews for this book and instantly I was excited, but I was left - not disappointed, that’s definitely the wrong word - but a little ‘oh‘ to the end - basically I need to accept that twists for me are different to other people’s twists 🤣

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. I really liked Kitty Collins’ character and the way this book tackled really uncomfortable and horrible subjects, and packaged them up in a weirdly light hearted way. I also really liked some of the other side characters who I shan’t name here due to spoilers. The final page of the book was just what I wanted, please tell me there’s another book to carry on this

Buckle up, because I have some things to say. 😐

(This review includes spoilers)

I want to start off by saying that the concept is AMAZING but the execution was absolutely terrible. This book is the definition of white feminism, and it really feels like it was written by a man. These characters have weird a$$ names and are so insanely annoying. The kills are so unrealistic, and the plot is really predictable. But my main issue with this book is that the main character, "Kitty Collins," is so weak in the knees for attractive men that it's actually embarrassing. She radiates this insane "But not ALL men are bad" energy. Not to mention that she was literally giving her boyfriend A BL0W J0B RIGHT AFTER READING SEXUAL ASSAULT CONFESSIONS OF VICTIMS WHO ARE DEEPLY TRAUMATISED 😀‼️Also, I don't understand why Kitty had no problem after finding out that Charlie was still working with James, despite knowing that he is a rapist. Moreover, the ending got me so mad because she killed Hen. Mind you, she made rules, and one of the rules was that she would never kill a woman. I'm just so disappointed because I really wanted to love this book since the concept is so cool. The only thing enjoyable was the humor at the beginning. I can't get over the BJ scene that was really my last straw because at that exact moment, I knew that this was going to be a one-star read. I do not recommend reading this sh!t go read "My Sister the Serial Killer" instead.
