This book feels more like a study into the mind of an FBI profiler than a procedural book.
It's well written but it spent too much time, for my liking, inside Caitlin's head and not enough time investigating the UNSUB , it felt really sloppy and just boring.
I don't think I'll continue this series, Im ok with knowing about the detectives but not this much.

I’m loving the UNSUB series by Meg Gardiner! Into the Black Nowhere is the latest entry in the series and I think it is better than UNSUB! This book pulled me in and was good from start to finish. The subject matter of a serial killer and some parallels with real serial killer tactics made it very interesting and chilling at times. I highly recommend it!

Overall I enjoyed this serial killer novel and there were some good twists thrown in along the way. There were definitely parallels to the Ted Bundy killings. However the repeated instances of incompetence by local police forces became an annoyance to me and kept this book from getting 5 stars.

I enjoyed this - the ending made me excited to read the final instalment. It's just a solid crime series, with a more thriller edge.
I put this one off for a while because I couldn't really remember much detail of what happened in the first book, but it's following a completely different killer and does a good job or summarising the previous book whenever things from it come up. I really enjoyed the addition of Rainey.

the stuff with Sonnet White (the woman with the black cat tattoo). I thought maybe she'd turn out to be the accomplice. Even once it was revealed that it was the receptionist, I thought it could still have been her just with a changed appearance. I guess she was just another victim? Though not sure we got 100% confirmation on that. I definitely could be missing something here though. Then the other thing that knocked this down was
Spoiler
the "twist" of there being two killers, when that was also the twist of the first book - although admittedly this was a different dynamic.jessica_r_hamner's review against another edition
