4.5⭐️. This was a fantastic wrap up of the Next Life duet. I really enjoyed this. I would classify it as a second chance, enemies to lovers (kinda) story with the miscommunication trope in full force. It had a little too much of the baby/kid trope for me, but I’m probably one of the few women on the planet who doesn’t melt for cute babies and hot guys being great with kids. Like, my sigh of relief upon finding out that Evie was not Macon’s was audible.
This book did not have the toxicity of the first book, but still had ALL the drama, which I loved. Lennon and Macon really matured between the two books and I was glad that Lennon was no longer a pushover. I was so happy with the resolution of the Claire situation…she definitely got what she deserved.
I lived for Macon’s chapters in this book and I was thrilled that there were so many of them. I really enjoyed seeing how much he has grown as a person and yet also seeing that he still has his demons, but no longer lets them get the better of him, which was so awesome to see. And that dirty talk…

4.5⭐️ Did I just inhaled both books in span of one day? Yes I did. This is even better than the first book. I was in the mood for drama & messiness, this duet give me all that

Part 2 was just as good as part 1, we pick up 4 years later after Lennon left home and she is now in Paris!
But she is called back home due to an emergency, however she is less than pleased to be back home and having to see Macon after all this time.
Macon has been busy with joining the Marines but was mysteriously discharged and Lennon thinks it has something to do with the drugs and alcohol Macon would always consume when she knew him, she thinks he is the same guy who she was forced to leave behind, but she is in for a shock.
Lennon now goes by Capri, and isn't the same girl who left, she is a artist now and is full of inspiration to design, she doesn't want to stay home for long as she wants to get back to Paris and live her new life away from Macon. But everything from four years ago and how it all ended isn't what it seems and we open a big can of worms.
