Gripping

This is a book by an author new to me and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It started out like many other mafia based books I've read but the deeper I got into it the more complex it became. There are so many twists I was constantly waiting for the next one, anticipating what was going to happen but I really didn't guess how it would end and that's a strange occurrence for me.
Absolutely cracking read and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

This four books are from Mishca and Lauren story, when darkness met purity it’s perfectly representing Mish and Lauren. My first Russian Mafia Book and my heart is conquered, it’s not lovey dovey. When Mishca said I kill anybody who just think to kill Lauren, he kill them for real, he did it. .

Am I crazy if I’m jiggling on Mafia Book ?
.

Mischa as a club owner and Mischa as a mob, I think I’ll never recover from him (you think I’m crazy about him but wait my reaction on Luka). But seriously Mishca and Lauren went trough hell to be together, there are always someone to put their love at stake.

But in every Mafia book you need a good fight and torture your ennemi to make me happy sometime not always, I’m not crazy let’s be Ruthless come on.

I hope you’ll give a shot to this serie because you’ll be missing something, why nobody told me London Miller existe, I’ll be shouting and cheering and recommande her books because we really are in Mafia and it heart.

Honesty is the best policy.

Honestly, I had picked this up, read about 48%, then dropped it for a hot minute.

I've read lots of Mafia novels, this wasn't exactly what I thought it would be.

Mishca and Lauren, their relationship, the way it builds around their perspective lives, it wasn't this BAM and CRASH entrance I'd become accustom too. I didn't understand what it was about Lauren that drove Mishca too her....it was too easy, all of it. Chance slammed them together, and I found it strange this beautiful, young woman had nothing that a million other women in that city obtained as well.

Wrong. Wrong. WRONG I AM!

I was extremely naive. I'd been letting my Kindle collect dust for a few days - I'm a constant reader, I'm always glued to pages during a moment of silence - and I dropped back into the world of the Bratva and I've not seen the real world since.

I admit, I was wrong. I didn't take into consideration that just because Mishca showed interest in Lauren, he pursuit didn't seem up to par. I kept asking, WHY?

And I picked it back up again, knowing what amazing reviews this series has, and how another author I favor has started co-writing a novel together!! *dies* Then I fell back in, and it finally fucking clicked for me.

Anyway, I'm hooked, here I am London Miller, your willing Minion.

The story started off really good. The prologue gives all the great vibes of a thriller story.
Then it got really boring with the descriptive everyday life of characters without anything significant happening until the last few chapters. 3 stars but I’ll continue with book 2 to see where this is going.

First things first, SHOUTOUT TO MY NUTELLA FRIEND, SASHA :* for this awesome book recommendation, If you're feeling for a Mafia read, she's your girl
I've had this huge Mafia itch for the longest time that I could NOT scratch. Every book seemed so mediocre and this book was just screaming at me "READ ME READ ME READ ME READ ME" I just HAD to pick it up and god did it deliver.
description

Lauren went through a traumatic experience as a child but she no longer remembers it, for everyone around her believes that she blocked it out subconsciously. Lauren barely remembers her dad but the memories seem warm and that's all she can take from her past. After living in Michigan for 20 years, she finally decides to put her old life behind her along with all the pity stares she got from everyone. Now where to go but New York City? Where she meets one of her soon to be good friends and roommate, Amber. Mischa Volkov has been born in the life with the blood of the mob running through his veins and has lived and breathed it thinking that there was nothing more to life than what he had until he physically runs into Lauren with her coffee spilled all over him. The two paths that weren't meant to cross, crossed.

This book was adorably sweet, and had the most lovable characters. Mischa's love for Lauren is unspeakable and I can't wait to read the rest of their story throughout the series! I LOVE IT.
"5 DELICIOUS, SUSPENSEFUL STARS"

Just wow. This is mafia romance in the extreme. I read most of this thinking, “Okay, when does the mafia part come in?” The answer is it’s happening the whole time and it will blow up in your face. And you will love every second of it. This book had me all in my feels. I read this series sooooo fast. I was completely obsessed!

DNF at 63 %

sorry but there are just too many better books to keep struggling with this series. Although I like the writing style but the characters are only likeable on a good day. And seriously even if you are virgin at 22 (which is totally fine) you still would want to have some action if you are attracted to the guy even if it is only "kissing". And for a Bratva book there is no action at all. As I said before maybe the story would be good if it would be told in one book but it is a series and the story felt forcefully stretched to me.

4 stars!

This is actually my second time reading this book. I tried a couple months ago and stopped at Ch. 8. I didn't call DNF on it because I knew it had potential, I just wasn't feeling it at the time. So this time I picked up where I left off determined to finish this book. I'm so glad I did. Yes, it was boring in the beginning. It's not a super steamy and gritty mafia book like I like but the story picked up, and it ended up being a pretty good book.

Hero: 3.5 stars. He's not my favorite H in the whole world, but I'm hoping he grows on me.

Heroine: 4 stars. Liked her a lot more than H which never seems to happen. Interesting.

Sex: Eh, 3 stars. I don't buy this whole notion of them never getting it on because she's "scared" and he's wonderful and doesn't want to ruin her virtue. Please.

Plot: Umm.. 4 stars. The story is really good. What is keeping it 4.5 or 5 stars are the details of the story.

Overall a good book, and I'll be reading the rest of the series.
