Murder is Easy is a delightful read for fans of classic mystery novels. Christie’s skill in creating a web of intrigue and her keen observations of human nature make this book a standout. While it may not be her most famous work, it certainly holds its own among her extensive bibliography. The novel’s strengths in plot and character development outweigh its minor pacing issues, making it a solid 4-star read.

I don't understand the need to make series from Agatha's stand alones. Battle only appears at the end to tie things up but the main character is Luke Fitzwilliam an early retired overseas policeman who happens to find a woman in the train that wants to go to Scotland Yard and tell them about crimes she thinks have been commited in her hometown. Luke thinks she's endeearing but not very likely to be true and forgets about it until the next day she happens to be in the newspaper being killed by a running car.
Luke gets an invitation to a mannor in that town from the cousin of a friend and tries to discern who is who in it. But to discover madness is not an easy feat, specially not surrounded by people with suspicious behaviour.

3.5 for this one - I've seen Christie do it a lot better but this does have a lot of elements I love from her. I like when she gets a theme or concept and really digs into it. I wish there was more humor to brighten it up a bit, it gets dull in some parts. The main character gives me Hastings vibes which I can vibe with if we treat him as a golden retriever but this guy is a bloody himbo and we are meant to pretend he isn't. The heroine carries this book and Christie really set the bar low for men honestly.

At first the premise of a village with no crime (especially not murder) but a high “accident” rate made me think it would be a dark comedy like Hot Fuzz. But, it’s more sophisticated than that. And has all the fiendishly clever plot twists that Christie is famous for! It certainly kept me guessing.

Honestly fun Agatha Christie that I hadn't heard of before! It was pretty easy and fast-paced (even though it took me 2 months haha) and I quite enjoyed the characters!

Also the copy I got was old from a used bookstore in SF and I was so worried the whole time that the pages might fall out if I so much as breathed on it wrong lol. But very fun retro cover and blurb on the back.

2.8-3 stars. I was really enjoying this. I love the setting and the personalities of different characters. But, when it comes to the reveal, I felt a bit disappointed. It's not the who I was disappointed by, it was the why. Though I wasn't sure what I wished it would be but just something else lol. Still, it was a fun read and I was never bored.
