As a non-american born years after the events being analysed in here, I found it sometimes difficult to follow. I think that reading this book and having lived through those periods would be so rich and eye opening. It is quite an in-depth look which I love, but it also makes it a bit repetitious at times. The importance of this text is obvious to anyone who reads it, and the awarness it brings is the first step for a potential systematic change.

Chomsky is one of the greatest minds ignored. In this old book he detailed the changes in language and media and predicted the circus of lies, misinformation, and manipulation our nation would endure.
Spot-on.
It was such a depressing book. It also didn't help that it's big and deep and so much of it has to be read over and over again. Chomsky read like the harbinger of doom and it just seems like nobody listens.

The narratological framework designed by both Herman and Chomsky is second to none. The basis for all purported claims is supplemented with a receipt every single time. I wanted to highlight half of the book. I found myself on two occasions (due to chapter two and four of the book respectively) on the fringe of hysteria because of the propaganda model that is imposed on its targets. Mostly hysterical because I have seen its effects on the people around me, people I love and cannot blame for their insolent retorts to a rejection of nationalism in the US.
I read this book in a weeks time and it has changed my life for as long as I live, and I hope it resonates with its readers as it has done for me.
