Oh the twist...

This one wasn’t quite as fast paced as the first book i read from this author but still had a good twist at the end. It caught me a little off guard but then everything started to piece together.

The middle of the book was very slow going for me but it made up for it at the end.

You know those books you just cant put down? This is one of those. i typically have problems followig a story when its told from multiple views but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. it was gripping, twisty and pretty darn powerful.

I'm not sure what to say about this book. It wan't terrible. It wasn't great. It didn't have me coming back to listen to it every day...but I finished it. It was just an OK book.

No character development and very unlikeable characters to boot. A bunch of plotlines that just....stop. Characters would be quite in the dark and then POOF, they've figured it all out out of nothing.

The writing is okay. The story is okay. It's just that I couldn't bring myself to care about what happens to these characters.

Emma is struggling with anxiety and depression, so I don't like to judge the character. But I can't sympathize with her. She blows off her friend, best friend and others who try to help her and makes things difficult for them. She drives dangerously. She shows up to work as a Kindergarten teacher hung over and has to be sent home.
There really is no good idea of who she is- her likes, dislikes, etc. Her only hobby seems to be excessive drinking.

Her husband is kind of a sniveller who is also gullible. He is absorbed with his own problems and so doesn't care when Emma shares she is being stalked. Who cares about their wife's stalker? Not this guy! He also looks down on workmates and resents Emma's friends who are trying to help her.

Amber is the scum of the earth. Other characters range from annoying to horrible.

The only really good character is killed off almost immediately.
So I didn't get all the way through it. I realized I didn't care. I'd be willing to read a book by this author in the future if she can present me with characters I can be invested in.

See Me Not is a story told in the first person in alternating chapters by Emma, David and Amber.

Emma is quite a complex character. Even though she has what she wants in life, she is still a very troubled soul. Her life is about to get even more troublesome and it has her loved ones fearing for her sanity.

David, is Emma’s husband. There is no doubt how much he loves his wife. It certainly can’t be easy for him living with Emma as he constantly worries about her state of mind. He is such a lovely person though and is very much her rock.

Amber, I couldn’t work out to start with. I didn’t know where she fitted into it all and why she seemed hell bent on destroying Emma and David’s marriage. As the story goes on she becomes even more unlikable and I was truly dying to know why she was doing what she was.

See Me Not is a truly gripping read that I couldn’t put down. I was desperate for answers and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I loved the little twists and turns that the story took and it kept me guessing through out. A truly captivating story that by the end, had me feeling a mixture of emotions that I hadn’t expected to feel. Will certainly be reading more books by this author.

My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

This started out very promising, but about halfway through, I struggled for days to finish. Felt like a jumbled mess after awhile.
