This just didn’t work for me on any level. The audio did it no favors. I didn’t connect with the characters, I felt the intimacy was severely lacking and the pacing was strange (super drawn out and then the last 8% was wildly chaotic.)
I think listening to this while reading another series that has me completely obsessed was probably a mistake on my part. So maybe this is a me issue and not the book.

this is a basic and simple love story about an ex-con who feels like he isn't good enough and a lonely man. it had a bit of angst, strong characters and a slow and sweet romance that was exactly what Eddy, not only wanted but needed

I don’t know how to rate this. There is a lot I didn’t like but I was also smiling like a loon a lot.
I loved Bishop.
I didn’t care for the ending, felt abrupt even tho I understand it’s part of a series but since the next one is focused on a different couple I would’ve preferred a longer ending after the resolution to the big secret.

DNF @ 60%. I listened to the audiobook.
This needs a lot of editing. There are too many sentences like “he kissed his lips” where it’s hard to tell which “he” is being referred to - usually both in the same sentence in awkward ways. There are ways around this that make it much less confusing. This was seriously a major problem that needed to be fixed.
I noticed two instances where “Bishop” was mentioned when I was pretty sure they meant “Edison”. Unsure if this was the narration or the book itself.
Story was okay but nothing special. I do like the contrast between Edison and Bishop but nothing else made it worth my while.

Love It!
I loved this book. I’m so glad this book wasn’t filled with violence and enough angst to choke a horse. I was perfect. I enjoyed Bishop and Edison as a couple. I can’t wait for the next book!

I loved this book. The relationship between Bishop and Edison was so well done. Their story was so beautiful. Both had issue they had to overcome and grow through. It was great seeing them succeed.
This is a different pace that I was used to when an AE Bua books but so wonderfully done it is in my top reads.
