If you like Si, you'll enjoy this book. And I guess that stands to reason because why else would you have bought it.

This is a very quick read for you Duck Dynasty fans out there. I wouldn't recommend reading it unless you've seen the show a few times to appreciate Si. We got this book as a Christmas present from my in-laws who love Duck Dynasty and were the ones who introduced us.

Si is a quirky guy who actually had a few interesting stories in this book that I never would have known. I liked the book better after his time in Vietnam.

I found this book very entertaining. Anyone who has watched Duck Dynasty knows that Si Robertson has some of the best stories and this book is a giant compilation of nothing but him tell his life story through the lens of his quirky personality. Between all the "hey"s, "jack"s, and mismashed colloquialisms; his stories are actually really heartwarming. There was so much I didn't know about "Uncle Si" but now that I know more about him, it makes him all the more endearing.

I really enjoy biographies and I appreciate that Si’s hilarious humor shines through his writing as well as it does on TV.

This book is bizarre. It's sort of an anecdotal autobiography, but the "co-writer" of the book has such a heavy hand it's impossible to hear much in the book that sounds like the TV voice or personality of Si Robertson. The tone of the book is jarring, going from various wacky squirrel-eating antics to stories of how he almost shot a kid in Vietnam and how his wife was molested. I could also have done without knowing about his low sperm count. Book doesn't come off as authentic in any way, but worth a peek just for the unintentionally hilarious "Letters to Si" section in the back where his daughter writes about how happy she is to be physically confident and intellectually gifted.

I would have preferred that Si read the while book himself on the audiobook

I dislike trashy and inane "family reality" TV shows. I avoid them like the plague.

My Stepdad and I, probably in September, saw a commercial for a new season of Duck Dynasty. We had no idea what it really was about, and I was frustrated that people were wearing these guys's shirts at school all of the time. "What's the big deal?!" I thought.

So I told Dad to load up an episode of theirs from the Free On Demand on our TV.

We were instantly hooked.

I love Duck Dynasty, unabashedly. It's a family-oriented show that is funny, intelligent, and above all functional. Everyone loves each other, everyone is very close, and at the end of the day they sit down at the table, say grace, and eat together. Of course this show has a slice of Christianity preaching in it, but it's not so heavy-handed that it makes me gag. If anything, it adds to the charm. They tell you who they are -- a very close-knit Christian family--and they don't go hog wild over their faith.

Anyway, I read this book because I have found Si to be one of my most favorite characters, next to Jeb and Phil.

Of course this book may be exaggerated a bit, but reading snapshots of Si's history and childhood and growing up, his time in Vietnam, marrying his wife, and eventual star on "Duck Dynasty" , it has only solidifed my love of him.

He is such a goofy sweetheart. He reminds me of my own grandpa, cracking jokes and making silly word puns off the top of his head. His family is never really featured in the show, so this book came as a surprise to me that he had that many grandchildren.

We also come to know the origins of that blue cup. My Dad thought he was drinking alcohol in that cooler, but nope it's iced tea. I told Dad that and he cracked a joke that it was probably spiked.. Maybe. With sugar!

If you're a fan of the show then read this book. That's all I'm saying, Jack!

What can I say.. I actually am a sucker for Uncle Si. I just had to read this one and it was okay. Had some parts that really made me chuckle and taught me some things about Si Robertson that I may have never known had I just continued watching him on T.V. Had a hard time holding my interest though so ya, two stars.
