Ahhh!! What a cliffhanger!

I enjoyed this book immensely. I took me a bit to get into the groove and I can't say I'm in love with Callie or Kayden entirely (though I might have a crush on Kayden's best friend Luke...) though I did really enjoy there story. I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel!

I really enjoyed this novel by Jessica Sorensen. These books always pull out so much of my heart, because Sorensen always creates such damaged characters. It's one of my favorite things about her writing, but it's also what makes them so hard to read and write reviews on.
I truly loved Callie and I thought she was so brave. It did bother me that she never told her parents, and that her parents wanted to remain so clueless. That bothered me more than anything because I can't imagine just brushing signs like that aside.

Callie was so brave when she stood up to Kayden's father, and I'm glad it changed something for him. It bothered me after the opening scene that Kayden would just let her go and not even think about her. I mean in the end it makes sense, but I just wanted him to be a little more grateful. I did love that Callie went off to college and was doing the things she needed too in order to make herself better. The secondary characters in Jessica Sorensen's novels are always amazing and I loved Seth and Luke.

I don't want to spoil things, but lets just say the ending left me with a ripped out heart, and I've never been more thankful to have the second book ready to go. I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars, because I can't believe that cliffhanger. If I had to wait to finish this, I would have been royally upset. As it was I had to wait until the next morning to be able to get to it due to time constraints.

Wow!! Just wow!! I got a sample of this book and got hooked from page one. I love the way Jessica Sorensen writes. You get to see from both characters sides, getting in deep.

Callie is a shy girl with a very deep dark secret that she feels she can never tell anyone, because no one will understand. Being the 'freak' in high school, she tries to branch out and change herself her first year in college. Become more confident in her own skin but still trying to deal with her inner demons. She meets Seth. Who she feels like she can open up to and tell her secrets to. After having a summer away from home, away from her high school tormentors, the fall semester starts. And in comes Kayden, a guy she knew from high school.

Kayden is so happy to be away from home. To mainly get away from his father and his controlling abusive nature. With both of his brothers out of the house and his mother a drunk who doesn't really care about what happens in the house, Kayden has been dealing with the brunt of all of his father's beatings. Now with a football scholarship and being 6 hours from home, he finally feels like he can start living. Or at least try. Until he sees Callie and all the memories of the night she saved his life come rushing back to him. He wants to talk to her to explain what happened, to thank her, and to get to know this person who would step up to his father.

The more Kayden gets to know her and the more Callie lets go of some of her secrets, they find they save each other in many ways.

The story is so heart wrenching. I just want to grab them both at times and just hug them. I cried. I laughed at Seth. I wanted to punch Caleb. I was involved emotionally. With having the alternating POVs throughout the chapters, you never had to guess what the other character was thinking or how they were going to react about things. It was very refreshing.

The only thing I didn't like was that some of the editing bothered me. I found myself wanting to grab a red pen and marking up my kindle. But it wasn't so much that it distracted me from the actual book.

Be forewarned. The book ends with a HUGE cliffhanger. I about chucked my kindle across the room at 4:30 this morning. (yes I stayed up all night reading it.) The next book comes out on Feb. 28th 2013. I have my countdown set on my computer.

The Redemption of Callie & Kayden vÀldigt snart.

if i could give this SIX STARS I would .

extremely touching story . a book that brings up topics many people try to avoid discussing in everyday life . those disorders , crimes , and evilness we wish just wouldn't exist !

this is not your typical boy meets girl , they fall in love , have sex , with an ending of "i'm pregnant" and happily ever after .. i promise it so much better , far more touching that anything i've ever read before . this book made me laugh , cry , get angry and many times i had to walk away because some things were to intense ! this book had it all ! character development , answered questions , and characters you fall in love with ! i didn't want it to end . and when it did , you wouldn't think of it as a cliffhanger if you didn't know there was a part two . if i read this when it was first released i wouldve thought the ending was the ending and thought it was perfect . no happily ever after , no second book .

Callie is an 18 year old girl newly graduated from high school . Labeled the high school "freak" and bullied she just "can't wait" to get out of Afton . The town she's in that harbors many traumatizing and painful memories from her 12th birthday that she has kept hidden from everyone . She's determined to leave and never look back . The book opens at Kayden's school Scholarship party . Kayden is the school's star football player (we all know those types) . He's someone who seems to have it all together on the outside . Handsome and dreamy yet dying on the inside from the hands of his abusive father .

Seth :
OMG !! LOL ! :) the gay BFF . how can you not love him ?!?! he's hilarious . loving , and understands Callie . he's the basis on her journey towards healing . afterall , they are the only ones that told each other their "secret" . they trust each other and we all know nothing is more important than that .

The List :
i don't know what to say about the list . at first it seemed mighty confusing . it took me awhile that it introduced the theme of the chapter . and each chapter flowed well with the story ! The List is circles around Seth and Callie's friendship and their need to heal . They have a pact to everyday cross of at least one item off the list .

Romance :
The author doesn't throw a romance out at you that screams OMG THEY'RE SO IN LOVE . You can clearly see that these two people care deeply for each other and it doesn't need to be pointed which i loved and adored so much about this book . you don't need to read that they're in love when you can feel it coming off the pages when you read it . You feel for them and their relationship with each other . it seemed like it took forever to get to a certain scene . i'm glad the author did it this way , with a build up of their feelings and intensity of their urm "moment" ...

I certainly hope I didn't reveal to much but after reading reviews I just had to have it and I enjoyed this book so very much . Before I bought it I was thinking , dang $6 !! Not knowing I would've definitely paid more than $5.99 for this , it was well worth it . Sneaking time at work to read it , and skipping lunch hour so I can get through it . Many times I stopped because of my enjoyment (and its intensity) I just wasn't ready to finish it . I read a lot of books and very selective on what I put on my FAVORITES list on Goodreads . but i had to include this . there's no way i couldn't . READ IT !!

I was in the market for an easy, gushy, sappy, girlie, summer read and this was just that. Although, there were some darker elements I was not expecting at all.

Jessica Sorensen has really found her bread and butter!

After reading, and loving, The Secret of Ella and Micha I was excited to wade into The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden.

This book is an emotional roller coaster! The characters are so real and flawed and hurting that you just want to crawl into the pages and hold them.

The story revolves around Callie, who we learn had something so terrible happen to her at twelve that she retracts into a protective shell and Kayden, who has been dealing with a verbally and physically abusive father his entire life.

These are two very different people the reclusive Callie and the Quarterback Kayden who although "knowing" each other their entire lives are virtually strangers when circumstances put them together at a graduation party. This meeting changes them forever.

Fast forward to Fall and the start of college. Callie and Kayden end up at the same school and haunted by what Callie did that night at the party Kayden seeks out a friendship with her only to find something so much more.

Among the drama and pain we have Luke and Seth who are sidekicks to Kayden and Callie and bring out their 'flirting with fun' side. The groups exploits made me laugh throughout the book. However, what really marks this as a well told story is that even in these light fun moments you realize that Callie and Kayden are both struggling to find the sense of 'normal' that most college students would have in partaking in things such as dancing in clubs, going to parties or hanging with friends.

This is an amazing story about how damaged a person can become from the tragedies in our lives and how these two characters fight to overcome their pasts while still keeping their horrible secrets.

I would rate this mature YA/ New Adult for excessive use of the F-bomb, other language, and sexual content (although not overly explicit)

Warning: The last few chapters and especially the ending may have you rocking in a corner crying! I was trying to turn the "pages" of my Kindle as if it were broken and it would magically turn into the rest of the story!

Don't say I didn't warn you!

Swoon-o-meter: As always I must tell you how swoon worthy the book boys are! Kayden as tortured as he is is a hard one to rate. He is certainly sweet and handsome and makes a great MC but I don't think he would land on my book boyfriend list. Not because I don't like him but because he is just so messed up! If you are the type to want to take in stranded and lost dogs and keep them then Kayden would be the guy for you.

Luke and Seth are funny and fun loving kind of guys. Luke definitely seems like the player and Seth would be the BFF. So unfortunately I don't forsee much of a book boyfriend opportunity here but I TOTALLY see a love affair happening with me and the book!

Go read it and see for yourself!
