This is the best mental health educational “self help” book I have ever read. It provides educational physiological/psychological evidence and reasoning as to why we think/feel/act the way we do. It does not blame or shame. It provides gentle, soft, and simple (ACTUALLY simple!) advice and tools to better your mental health. It consistently reiterates how small and simple steps lead to sustainable change, and gives tons of examples of how to do this. It is aware that many people make the mistake (or are told via motivational speakers or other books) of upheaving their entire lifestyle and make dramatic, huge changes and how this rarely works, if ever. It provides summaries at the end of each chapter and provides “toolkit” prompts, activities, etc.

A much MUCH better book on mental health. probably my second favorite mental health book, second to "stop surviving, start fighting."

Lots of great advice covering a wide range of topics. Would highly recommend to anyone starting, or working on, a mental and physical health journey.
