Very cozy and delightful. The tone and writing were amusing right from the start, and the cast of characters are all lovable. Magic being portrayed as a mischievous and sentient force was fun too

I also love the times when straight romances still feature and acknowledge queer love and relationships. It’s exactly the normalization I’d like to see in all media

Loved this. Didn’t anticipate I would enjoy a book with kids in it that much but it was really fun. A bit heavy-handed in its messaging and the final twist was more of a „oh come on get it over with“ moment
but that could also just have been influenced by me having read a book featuring sisters with themed flower names right before
. Overall, a really comforting book that made me more optimistic. Not sure I would classify this as adult literature though, probably more like young adult.

This was without a doubt one of the most heart-warming books I have ever read. The characters were so life-like and I wanted my own bedroom in the Nowhere House. The magic, the romance, the three adorable girls, the diverse backgrounds of all the characters. The diversity isn't just in ethnicity and nationality, but in sexuality and ages. Add in well written trauma that enhances the characters, and mwah chef's kiss!

I liked most of the book a great deal. The characters were good people. It was beautiful watching how clearly their trust was deserved even before the main character knew how to give it and how present love and kindness were even before the main character knew how to receive it. I could read about themes like that all day.

The emotions were vividly described and interwoven in a way that drove the plot forward. I like that.

Unfortunately that same vividness extended into things being a lot more sexually explicit than I enjoy, and if I hadn't been reading this book in my second language, I bet the curse words would have been a lot more in my face too. These are flaws that prevent me from wholeheartedly recommending the book to people who I know would otherwise enjoy it. (Man, I hate how hard it can be to find a book outside of the kids section that profoundly speaks of love but is not sexual...)

I still want to give the book at least 4 stars and not any less, though, because the ways the people treated each other were as beautiful as the best of humanity!

This was such a heartwarming story. It reminded me of House on the Cerulean Sea, but with witches, and I loved every minute of it! Mika and Jamie were absolutely adorable, and the whole story made me so happy!
