This was a pretty good quick read , the story kept me interested for sure & I love an old love reunited type of story that is written well & with plenty of drama to keep the story alive & saucy. MMC is obsessed with her all the years that they are apart & that is definitely just *chefs kiss* in my opinion. FMC was a little on the annoying side just her personality & lack of her own personal purpose . But all in all I love this read , definitely starting the next book !!

Just once I’d like to read a mafia romance where the FMC has a backbone.

The MMC blackmails the FMC into a marriage, acknowledges that he didn’t have to do it and that he would’ve helped her even if she didn’t marry him, and then spends the next 300 pages mostly ignoring her until he wants to have sex.

The consent issues in this book also have me a huge ick. MMC thinks that because FMC gave him blanket consent 15 years ago that he doesn’t have to ask for consent again. Too many scenes in the book come across more as assault than romance.

I cannot believe I got through this. I imagine it's like when you watch a car crash and can't look away.

I have never in my life read anything as toxic and plain stupid as this.

He literally blackmails her into marrying him, THEN he essentially fucks her without her consent TWO TIMES, tells her she's his possession and baby making machine and IMPRISONS HER in his penthouse.

I'm sorry, but who's pussy is this supposed to get wet? It's like a step by step manual on what NOT to do in a relationship.
They don't even have a single decent conversation, where they actually COMMUNICATE with each other, until the fucking EPILOGUE.

This book has no fucking content and don't get me started on the grammar. Dear god it's as if it came straight out of Wattpad and no one deigned to look it over again.

The only reason this book even got one star from me is because I can't belive I actually read it.

This book was pretty good. Ava and Link (Lincoln) were lovable characters. I was a bit disappointed that the book wasn't deeper and the reason I'm not giving it more stars. It just scratched the surface and I feel if it went deeper, it would have been an absolutely incredible story. I wish we could have gotten some flashbacks, like Ava realizing she would never love anybody like Link and refusing to marry her past lover or when Lincoln first k1lled. I wanted to see more of them together after getting married and Ava's heart finding its' way back to Lincoln. I love how Link kept that phone that allowed only her number through and how he literally shot one of his mens' 🍆 off for thinking Ava would blow him. For a standalone, it doesn't really conclude the ending. Why did Damien Libellula want a truce? What did he mean that if he could get to Ava, anyone could? I know there's more stories in the series, but it's a standalone, it's supposed to conclude in this book.

Tropes:
- Mafia
- Second chance
- Stalking
- Obsessed and possessive MMC
- He may be the king, but she's his queen

I liked it, it was more of a fun book than a good book. I think it bothered me the way Ava was so okay with how Link was (at least her inner monologue said that most of the time) but then her actions were not. It also felt like it was all just one big miscommunication troupe and that was annoying as hell.
