Hope swapped places with her twin sister, so she could take a year-long trip with friends. When a storm shipwrecks them on an island, she meets Alejandro. Alejandro has been alone on the island for a year. He must teach them how to survive on the island. Alejandro notices Hope acting one way with him and another way with her friends. Will Alejandro forgive her for lying to everyone about her true identity?
I loved this book so much! The narrator did a good job with Alejandro's accent. I think it really added to the story. I love how practical and hardworking Hope was in the story. I see a bit of myself in her. I love Alejandro and Hope's connection. This book has some Christian themes.

This book was different than what I’m used to reading in this era. And I loved it. I loved the message of being true to yourself. While you can strive to be a better person, you shouldn’t change who you are to please those around you. I loved the setting and the day to day life lived through the story.

I really enjoyed this book Sally Britton is one of my favorite authors! I have enjoyed all of the books in this series and was excited to see how Hope’s story went, it was a very original story for a regency book and totally befitting the adventurous Hope. Can’t wait to read Isaacs story next! Updated I also listened to the audiobook. The narrator did a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend this regency romance/adventure such a fun story

If you love Regency romances, but you are tired of the same stories of lords and ladies falling in love during their seasons in London, I implore you to read this gem of a book. Hope is not your average Regency heroine, but not in a not-like-other-girls kind of way. She is kind and generous, but she speaks her mind and longs for an adventure she can't quite put into words. When, by unfortunate shipwrecked circumstances and by the willful choices of her and her twin, she winds up on an island on the other side of the world with a mysterious man. There she finds everything she has been looking for in one place, even if she and the man both take time to accept the truth of their hearts and learn to hope for a future together.
This lovely novel does not shorten its length to tell the story of Hope and Alejandro quickly. Instead, we get to sit with these individuals for a long time and see their transformations separately and together. I adored my time on the island and after their rescue because, spoiler, they *do* get rescued.
While this can be read as a standalone novel, I HIGHLY recommend reading the other Inglewood books as well. I have read all but one of them, and they are all fantastic. I would recommend reading Discovering Grace (Inglewood #2) before this one, but it is not required reading, nor are the others required reading. While not my favorite of the Inglewood series (my favorites are Grace's story and Neil's story), Hope's story is a special read and Hope is such a wonderful, well-written character.

I have loved the Inglewood series but it took me a while to get into this book. While it doesn’t help that my KU expired before I could finish it, then it was available for free it still took me a while before picking it back up.

Hope, secretly switched places with her twin sister Grace, to go to the Caribbean with neighbors. Grace never wanted to leave home and Hope was more adventurous but when her father forbid her to go - it seemed like the only option. Now Hope is pretending to be Grace with the neighbors while a small day trip to another Caribbean island gets caught in a storm.

Alejandro has been stranded on the island for over a year. While it’s not idea, it’s comfortable. He has a routine and the island has enough resources to keep him going until a beautiful woman washes up on shore. Is she a siren or an angel? Does this mean he’s gone completely crazy and hallucinating?

Soon the rest of the party on the boat wash ashore too. Temper, stress and survival surge. Hope finds it harder to keep pretending to be Grace and live up to the name. She’s also curious about the resident of the island.

I really liked Alejandro and learning a little bit about other struggles in the world at the time. I appreciated Hope’s strength. I don’t think I’d be able to keep a level head if I were in the same situation.

I LOVED it. There are very few books that have 180-reversed my opinion about a character. I thought Discovering Grace was beautiful but really didn't care for Hope going into Saving Miss Everly. Grace's attempts to be more like her adventurous and outgoing twin were endearing. Seeing the love and affection and attempts to be like the other twin as mutual from Hope's POV was equally so.
"Grace would not ask the question on the tip of Hope’s tongue. Grace would swallow the question and withdraw as she was bid, respecting the social customs with which they had been raised. But Hope was not Grace."
There's a scene between Hope and Alejandro that made me sit up straight and say, "oh!" I was so caught off guard and swept up in that tiny moment between them. And this is why there's such a term as Latin Lover. Where can I get an Alejandro? (Holding up my hand as I reread that scene. Sigh...
