This is the third, and I am guessing final book in the Witch and Wizard series. I really love James Patterson's writing, and it is as fantastic as ever in this series and in this book, but I must say there were some things about this book that I did not love as much as his other books. Nevertheless, due to his writing, it is fantastic anyway. In this book, Whit and Whisty, brother and sister, wizard and witch, once again have a facedown with The One Who Is The One who has taken over the world and the underworld and is trying to become God. In order to do so, he needs Whisty's powers over fire and electricity. Together and apart, Whit and Whisty fight the One and his New Order in another gripping tale.
This is a fantastic ending to this series and if you liked the first two books in the series, you will love this one!

I've never really been a big fan of James Patterson. After Reading "Angel Experiment" and "Daniel X" I had pretty much given up on this guy. Although, I had heard some amazing things about his new book "Witch & Wizard" so I thought 'What the heck' and so I picked it up and read it. BLEH!!! I honestly cannot stand Patterson's writing style. The dialogue that his characters use is just so unrealistic, lamely sarcastic and just overall annoying. On top of that, I've never really been a big fan for his short chapters. I feel that this book had a lot of potential and if written by anyone other than Patterson (or Stephanie Meyer) then I actually might have enjoyed it.

This is a YA book that doesn't translate to A. Along the same lines, prose-wise, as the Maximum Ride series, which I liked, but with less depth/complexity. I think kids will like it fine; I just wanted more: longer chapters, more plot & character development.

I started this series more than two years. While the plot is engaging, (you can't help wanting to know what's going to happen next), I didn't really like the characters especially the main ones. So I stopped reading it after two novels. Well, I spotted these books in the library and remembered that I'd started the series and it wasn't that bad. Also, I don't really like to leave stories unfinished unless it's truly horrible and/or boring. Since the library had all the books, I borrowed them and I am now working my way through them again.

There are many glaring plot holes in this story. The author seems to be going for a world that is controlled by lids but it only seems to reinforce the idea (at least in my mind) that it's best to leave governing to the adults. It seems that all kids are good for is going on adventures. That may include battling a big EVIL and/or learning about powers that they never knew they had. Whatever message this author had (and it was painfully obvious that there was a message, the protagonists' narration pointed it out many times), the plot didn't do it justice. So I ignored that message and read on to find out when and where the protagonists will get power-ups and defeat the big EVIL.

I will continue to read the rest of the series because I already borrowed them and I do like stories with magic. I just wish that the characters in this story could be more fleshed out.

This book was okay. The plot was okay but the writing- well. I realize this is a YA book but come on. I literally cringed at the writing in parts. It seemed super fast paced which left me wanting more details. As one other reviewer mentioned- super short chapters that are slightly annoying. That being said, I enjoyed the book for the most part and will be reading the next in the series. If you enjoy paranormal dystopian novels and are looking for a super easy read, then check this one out.

I tried to read a Patterson book a few years ago and I was horrified with the writing. It was awful. I never finished it. I read this one because my sister really liked it. I didn't. There really is a different between showing and telling. Patterson (or should I blame Charbonnet?) tells and it's not beautiful. The story could be good if it was developed. Which it isn't. A good example of undeveloping the story is the magic that Wisty and Whit can suddenly do. How they do it, how they control it, is never explained. They don't even know how they do it. And at times they can't do it, but that isn't explained either. Lame.

I won't be reading another Patterson novel. I had to make myself finish this one. It was painful. And a waste of time.
