This book will linger in your head long after you’ve turned the last page… assuming you’re okay with a lot of purple prose.

It was definitely an interesting, thought-provoking read- I like how the author calls to present day deaths and tragedies, but didn't feel super connected to the character. The writing style is super unique, and at times I loved it! Other times though I wasn't sure entirely what was happening or if there was any progression of storyline. This one will keep me thinking on it for a bit I think!

I'm the opposite of most of the other reviews in that I really disliked the first part. I almost DNF'd after the fourth chapter. However, I really sunk into the book and began to love it. I feel like the blurb about what the book is about is a bit misleading... But maybe I just interpreted the story differently? Some absolutely beautiful passages. Most things brought up a strong feeling, whether positive or negative, so I'd recommend it to people even if it's one of those that you hate but sticks with you.

Wow, this was a journey where I never knew what to expect page to page. Salena has the most gorgeous way with words and painted truly incredible pictures. It gets dark, graphic, weird, sentimental and every single page was important. 10/10 recommend. I think this should be a required read.

Like others, I thought the first 80 or so pages of this were incredible. Easy five stars. But it lost momentum as it went on, and bit off a little more than it could chew. Really enjoyed the writing, though. Would read from this author again.

I so badly wanted to love this book, and the opening was sooooooo friggin’ good! Honestly, the intro was the book equivalent of mouth-watering good! But as the book continued it felt a bit more clunky - sometimes it was lyrical and beautiful and at other times there was a thud of disappointment. The disappointments primarily surfaced as too much repetition (even when it has a purpose I only want to hear the word c*nt so many times). I will admit that it is possible I put the intro on a pedestal and the rest of the book just couldn’t live up to the strong opening.
