This books sucks! I don't know how to start. The story just doesn't add up. She is confident too soon. It just feel wrong to see a girl that got almost raped giving her trust and body to a man that fast.
The story start like a book for teenager and go rapidly to adult book. I was unease to read it and have to admit I wasn't able to finish it. It was just too long and I had the general fealing that the author just filled out the hole in the story with sexe scene and other sexe scene and another sexe scene.
Even when a nemesis shows up the author was able to kind of kill the story to add some sexe scene.
Maybe I am just not the type of personne she was targeting, but i will never suggest this book to somebody. I almost whish I didn't read it.

At a college frat party, Liam and Sera find instant chemistry with each other. However, as Liam is a vampire, he knows he should stay away from her, but he just can’t. He quickly finds himself more and more possessive over her, especially once she knows the truth. Even though she is frightened by the truth, Sera finds that she just cannot leave him. There is just something that keeps her around. Just when they think they have it sorted, someone decides to bring it all crashing down.

To begin with, I thought this book was slow. So slow I began to skim until it is confirmed that Liam is a vampire. Unfortunately it’s at least 8 chapters in. So if you are someone who has the first chapter rule, I am telling you that you wont be drawn in on the first chapter… Or the first 8. It is twilight-esque and I found myself skimming through the sex scenes as they are just beginning to all read the same. I must warn though that there is a potential trigger for those who may have been sexually assaulted.

Once the story picked up it was hard to put down. There were moments that I was definitely not expecting and once I read the first surprise, it just escalated quickly. I loved how strong Sera was, even after all she had been through.

I love that Sera was actually just frightened by Liam when she found out his secret. Most vampire novels I read (and there has been a few of them), everyone seems to jump at the opportunity to be one, rather than being frightened. I am giving this book 4 stars purely because of how much I loved Sera. When Liam became possessive, she would call him out on it and stand her ground. To her, she believed that yes they belonged together but she wasn’t his possession and he could not order her around. Characters like this need to be more frequent. Ever since Twilight, possessive boyfriends seem to be cool but it really isn’t and I don’t like the example it gives to young women.

I would definitely pick up the sequel!

This book was like a more appealing, exciting, and rated-R version of Twilight. Despite the fact that I was envisioning Twilight with everything revolving around these Vamps, they DID NOT SPARKLE!! I cannot even begin to tell you just how much that fact pleased me.

The first half of the book was pretty dull, only in that there was not much in the way of action (and I'm not talking about sexually; there was PLENTY of that). Nothing very eventful happened beyond the brief encounter with Jacob, which was actually a lot less exciting than I had anticipated. It was over and done with before we had even gotten to experience it. Kind of a bummer. Oh well.

The attraction between Sera and Liam was instantaneous and totally combustible. Before it could be truly complete, however, Liam had to first win over Sera's trust, as she has a past with harmful men. But boy, does Liam bring out the good in Sera. He has all the devotion and heart to bring out Sera's confidence and wholehearted trust in him, and then things get truly flammable. *squealing

Until the encounter with Jacob, though, the first half of the book is pretty my like any normal college relationship (at least I assume so, as I am only in High School I suppose I can't quite make that assurance. Making it anyway.) Sera and Liam seem to be your typical couple. The Vampire within Liam doesn't even seem to be present and we don't get to see much of this side of him. That is, until he kills Jacob in a fit of beastly rage. Then all goes to hell as he has no choice but to reveal his true self to Sera. This is where we see the crux of their feelings for each other, as they must both make sacrifices for the one they have come to love.

And thus, we dive into the second part of the book and the culmination of action provoked by outside forces. Sera's best friend has the brilliant idea to take the group away for some fun in the mountains. However, their plans are shot to hell when a blizzard leaves them stuck in the cabin with four hungry vampires and one crazy trampire (tramp-vampire for those of you who were curious) who is dead-set on taking Sera's life. It is pure chaos of our little group as they attempt to protect those unaware of the dangers they face. And it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of these amazing characters (the main group anyway). They were so well-rounded and dynamic, interesting and captivating. I fell totally in love and I am delighted at the time and effort that this author obviously put into this book. It was truly spectacular.

Shallow characters, weak plot, bad writing sort of sums up this book. A disappointment of the genre.
