I picked this up because it's very popular on YouTube, and I think because of that, I heard all the main points before I read it. If you've read Charles Duhigg's work before, this is very similar, and even references his work.

Ableist, classist, fatphobic, takes credit for the mental labour AFAB people do constantly. Hated this.

Some insightful advice -- though I think I need to read and take notes, not just listen, for it to sink in. A bit too uncritical of diet culture and healthy goal setting.

This book had a lot of good information and tips to change habits. That’s the only positive feedback I have, unfortunately. First off, I wish I’d known I was buying a diet book. For a book about the general subject of habit change and formation, it seemed like a disproportionate amount of the examples and anecdotes are about weight loss, fitness, and nutrition. There’s lots of fatphobia, diet talk, and nutrition misinformation, so beware of those triggers. Aside from that, the book was just very boring. There is no humor or personality in its pages. The stories meant to illustrate a point aren’t inspiring, funny, or emotional. They literally just help define whatever concept is being discussed. This is such an interesting subject that has potential to help lots of people. It’s a shame the author made it such a drag.
